It is incredible how they film so many angles and people in the same room, never showing cameras or crew anywhere in any shot.

It's because they film everything on the first try at as many angles as possible, usually first try is on a 1 shot (1 face on camera). They plan where the cameras go prior. Then they will make everyone do and say the same things again, mainly only parts that may have been missed or if they want a 2 shot on it (2 people in 1 shot). They will get food shots separately. Editing also helps, some shots may have been filmed at a different time and added in, e.g. reaction shots.

I love the MC Canada judges. When Mary’s steak came out medium instead of mid rare, they didn’t antagonize her over the cook. Instead, Claudio told her that it was a, and I quote, “PERFECT. 21:20 in case if you were wondering, cooking a scallop 3 minutes on one side is the epitome of stupidity and obvious lack of understanding on how long to cook scallops. Ideally you cook a scallop on high heat ~60 seconds each side so Tea was more on the money.
@bhhb4326
@bhhb4326 2 жыл бұрын
Actually, Mai isn’t that wrong. Some people do that to create a heavier sear on one side while the other is barely touched. They usually turn off the stove in some time if the process so it won’t overcook. It’s different cooking techniques. It just depends if you prefer an even sear or a really heavy sear.
@zacharyjackson1829
@zacharyjackson1829 2 жыл бұрын
@@bhhb4326 i mean im sure some people do that but i have never once heard of a restaurant worth their salt ever do something like that. when you need to put out the food quickly in a service setting it doesnt make sense to cook the hell out of one side and then take forever waiting for the other side to slowly adjust.
