Sam's club and Walmart generics are exactly the same supplier - so any perceived difference in taste is either psychological because walmart = cheap to most people. For instance. Walmart Great Value brand's are not made by Walmart and many Sam's club items are sold in Walmart. Sam's club soda pop IS coca cola. The meats are also sourced from the same supplier. Neither of them manufacture their own food product. They make a deal with name brand companies for premium display space - they get to sell x amount of generic brand item at usually half or more the cost. I was completely suprised at how good Walmart beef was when I was buying $8 per pound organic grass fed beef from new Zealand.

The only thing I would add to that is that since wagyu is such pricey meat they are grinding up every part of it they can. The flavor, texture and quality will vary from batch to batch. It's entirely possible that this one was better to him. But then again the next batch might not be.

He also cooked them differently, seasoned them differently and put cheese on one. That has a big effect on that perceived difference.

The Sam's Club one is from "American BBQ Company", which is not Sam's Club generic.

Alot of generics aren't actually like this, atleast not these days. Wal Mart / Sams Club have their own manufacturers, and farms for alot of their products so they can have more power and control over things like cost and quality. This covers alot of their things including dairy and alot of meat products.

Y’all need to try this and make a double or triple smashburger. Put it on the grill about as thin as a piece of cardboard. Sear each side so that the fat caramelizes on each side of every patty. Add cheese after you’ve flipped the first side. Let the cheese get all sloppy as you sear the other side. You’ll be addicted. You basically take the two sides that are normally seared and caramelized and then it into 4 or 6 sides of that. TRY THE DOUBLE OR TRIPLE SMASHBURGER!

not a fair comparason. You used onion on this one and paprika on the other. I've found onion powder (same with garlic) in cooking ground beef tends to give it a slightly dry/grainy taste, use real onions. Also, salting before cooking can dry the meat out, try salting after you cook so it doesn't draw moisture while cooking. You also grilled one and pan cooked the other which will greatly alter taste as well as fat content.

Sams club cola is not made by coke. If you believe that you must also think Pepsi takes like coke. Lots of other thinks are made in the same plant but that does not mean it’s the same item. Companies have different requirements on items.

Just wanted to let you know if you add seasoning with the exception of the salt you will have juicier burgers. Salt dehydrates the meat. There are videos about that, don’t feel bad though because there have been chefs cooking for 11 years that didn’t know about this. It’s just a tip from prof chefs that shared so I thought I should pass it on.

@@alexathome IDK? To be honest, I've never had Waygu from Sam's Club. I just know they use the same distributor. The thing I'll never understand is how does Walmart sell Waygu for less than Angus hamburger and close to the same price as regular chuck. It's amazing though. It might be part horse to cut down on cost(just kidding).

@@loganlancourmusic not correct. Kobe is a type of wagyu. Wagyu is just Japanese cows, and there are four different major types. One of those types is Kobe. Another is Notu. It depends on the prefecture
