As a certified clinical holistic nutritionist, I wholeheartedly agree that bacon raised on a natural diet that is free from chemicals is healthy and lard from the same pig is one of the healthiest fats, and should be one of the only fats used for cooking. Seed and vegetable oils should NEVER be used for cooking. So for anyone concerned about your use of bacon who is still consuming seed/vegetable oils that have been heated (even if you don’t use them at home, but you buy processed foods or eat out, you are consuming them) they are doing far more damage to their health than you are.

Jew and Muslim and vegetarian and vegan can’t eat lard. Coconut oil is a good substitute I think unless you have something else for us.

@@j.c4007 just another reason that a vegan diet is not something I recommend. Unless they want to eat oil that contains high levels of carcinogens and free radicals, and is one of the main causes of inflammation in the body, they have to either use animal fats for cooking or just not cook with any kind of oil.
@lmd2454
@lmd2454 5 ай бұрын
@@rachelhele7827 tallow from beef or venison is even better than lard. Vegetarians can use butter or ghee. Vegans just need to avoid eating foods cooked in any kind of oil. There’s no safe/healthy version of oil for cooking (heating above 130-140 degrees) so that is one of several reasons I do not recommend a vegan diet.

I had an accident not long ago where my dog who was underfoot got hot water in his eye from a lid held over the floor instead of over the stove. He was not seriously damaged but it did hurt him. I hope everyone will learn from this mistake when pets or children are underfoot: Hold the lid from pots and skillets over the stove or counter, not over the floor. I do enjoy your videos.

I love what you said about the sounds on the videos! That was very encouraging to me. I'm a mama of 9 just starting with trying my hand at videos and I know my kitchen will never sound (or look) like most of those I watch on KZbin, but I wouldn't trade it for anything! Actually, my first full length video was just for fun, and it was an "ASMR" video of what my kitchen sounds like while I wash eggs. It was NOT quiet, but some of the greatest blessings come with the most noise and messes! 😆🥰

You say your family like soup. Allow me to introduce ypu to a northern Swesish concept: soupstew! We have a tradition where I grew up in northern Sweden for a form ofsoup that is a ticker form of soup. The most common type is yellow pea soup with diced ham in. It is made from dried yellow peas that is soaked overnight. Traditionally served on thursdays. We also get pancakes afterwards served with jam and cream. Swedish pancakes are thin, almost like french crêpes. Enjoy

Yes and amen to squeezing in extra food making whenever I’m in the kitchen! My best days are when I start dinner at breakfast because the rest of the day I can focus on homeschooling and my brain isn’t rushed. Awesome! I'm living in southern Germany which is as far as I know the home of those kind of pretzels and pretzel buns. I always enjoy them with fresh cold butter. A 🥨 to go is like the first thing toddlers get to eat here and they grow up on it. In German it's not common to have buns as side dish for dinners. We just eat them for breakfast with butter and jam, deli and of course chocolate spread. With soup we'll rather have baguette or bread. I love to learn about different kitchens. Am still amazed how much effort Americans put into breakfast. In Germany people use to eat the same breakfast every day, either cereals or bread. Those who usually have cereal might eat buns at weekends with the above mentioned toppings and hard boiled or scrambled eggs... Whatever that tells about us. ;)

That's so nice about the playground. It is nice that you and your sister help one another. Having a sister sounds so nice. Pretzel buns sound great. I recently made soft pretzels for my family but it was a slight off. I need to improve upon my recipe. I love soup and dipping bread into it. Mmm. Your daughter looked like she had so much fun sprinkling the chocolate on her pie. I really would love to be in the kitchen with you and learn and cook with you. It is so strange how even though I have been a housewife for 19 years, I feel like I have only been really immersing myself into recipes and baking in the past few years. @@FarmhouseonBoone Thank you so much for the clarification. I have heard others mention a perpetual pot but had not had it explained how it worked.
