I wholeheartedly agree with you, it’s still summer! Summer is over after Labor Day! I don’t consider it Fall/Autumn until middle to late September. Then I look forward to pumpkins, all things apples, especially apple butter on toast, or mixed with cottage cheese. Btw, congratulations on your new baby! Your doing a great job, Lisa! I follow too many Americans. LOL. Most of them start talking about the end of summer at the end of July, early August, and I'm just like '?'. Our summer doesn't start until July, and lasts until the end of September. I blame it on the summer holidays that can start in May in the US apparently. When I lived in the US, I lived in Massachusetts and they definitely didn't start in May.

Did you know that if you turn your can opener so the turn handle is on the top, you can cut the lid off on the side and the lid will not fall in your can. Try it and see. Love the video! ❤️

I make pesto with cashews (pine nuts are WAY too expensive and mostly from China) and keep some into the winter by freezing it in ice cube trays or in small ziploc bags laid flat and stacked.

Fun fact, this shape of gniocchi is called "kopytka" in Polish, which literally means "hooves". Does it look like hooves? No clue but it's delicious no matter how you call it. We eat it with sour cream and sugar or breadcrumbs and butter.

my 12 year old son loves to make your gnocchi recipe! It's so good. We use it to make copycat healthier olive garden chicken and gnocchi soup :) He also makes your sourdough loaf every night before going to bed :) I love teaching my 4 kids to love to cook! Thank you. I can't wait for your cookbook to come out! I prefer cookbooks so I'm not having to be on my phone! :)

I think it’s because it’s the end of summer break for kids but it’s the fall decorating videos popping up that blow my mind. I love fall but it’s gonna get here, we don’t have to rush it. I try to embrace slow, seasonal living. I’m not perfect but I’m with you, let’s soak up the warm, slow days of summer and make all the memories.

You look for shortcuts… Did you know you can add dry pasta to your sauce with a little extra water, simmer until cooked and it makes for even more flavorful pasta with amazing texture? And only one pot! I didn’t know you could do this but my Italian mother in law did it for me once and I was so impressed with the flavor and efficiency. Try it! You’ll love it!

I think people have forgotten that regardless of when their children start school, that summer is until September 21st! We are on a seasonal rotation. In my home we celebrate summer even after school starts. In New England, school starts after Labor Day. However, we still have a 'summer camping' trip scheduled for September after school starts! I don't understand putting up fall decorations and pushing fall foods when it's 90+ degrees! Winter will come and will stay for a long time! (Especially in New England!) So, yes, I'm with you. So nice to see a video in August that's not a "Fall Video" a full 5-6 weeks before the actual season starts per the calendar! =)

I freeze pesto in ice cube trays and then put in freezer bags. I love it with angel hair pasta and cream. I do put garlic and a squeeze of lemon juice when making pesto.

We try to experience each of the 4 seasons we get here to the fullest. Gnocchi is always a hearty pasta. I found the focaccia recipe to be a particularly good idea for us. The peaches, pork & herbs make a great summer supper: salad on the side & done.

Pesto is so easy to freeze. I freeze mine in silicone ice cube trays. Once frozen, I place the cubes in a freezer bag and just add it to many yummy dishes. It thaws beautifully!

If you're dealing with an abundance of basil, may i suggest preparing and freezing the pesto? We always go out to the forest in spring, collect wild garlic, make pesto from it, freeze it flat it packages and use it throughout the year...its super convenient and i just add some cream to it when serving it on pasta or add it into the layers when making lasagna 🤗
