As a kid, my mom cooked fresh crowders after we shelled them. Loved them! Then it was hard to find them as I got older and got on my own. Then, I decided to grow my own and was surprised to find that they were easy to do so. So, I grew enough to dry and store for the future. I just cooked a pot yesterday, and they are awesome! Thanks 80 Cooks for taking me and others back, as well as introducing newbies to this wonderful, delicious and healthy legume!

Thank you. That's how my grandmother used to cook them. I just talked to an older guy today day and he told me to leave the pot cracked to get that thickness. I noticed you did it also. I'm about to put mine on thank you

Man I’ve watched 7 Crowder Peas Videos in a row and your’s is the ONLY ONE where the peas were creamy. And it was as I thought they all had way too much water.
