The white sugar was definitely new to me
@slickrick80462 жыл бұрын
@@TaylorsFSCooking He said he and his family like their beans sweet. But, plenty of old folks down South would add a tablespoon or two of sugar to their pinto beans during the cooking process so they won’t get overly soft. That’s not enough to make the beans sweet though.
@richardhoran649110 ай бұрын
All good. I'd personally use fewer neck bones and no onion or garlic powder. The fresh onions and garlic should be enough flavoring. Beans are the healthiest option for protein, but they're a long slog... Have you ever tried beef bones?

Any reason why you didn't put the top completely on the pot? It looks like the pot is not fully covered.

Hey, thank you very much for the knowledge with the neck bones, i hate to admit that I am a bit more traditional in the sense that Granny always used hocks, and I was just scrolling and your recipe was the first neck bone so we are going to see what we can do with it, my neighbor likes neck bones also, and thats why I want to see what i can do. I'll get back with you and let you know how i did. ✌ .

@@nickseviltwin1580 I would say more with ham hocks. Because there is so much fat and skin on them. But I like both.

Sugar! Why take the meat out?
@80Cooks Жыл бұрын
Good question! Sugar? Because i like my beans with sugar. Just my preference! My smoked meat takes longer to tender before my beans would cook so wanted to take them out before they over cooked to finish beans that's why I started smoked meat before beans.
