When I was small and my parents were alive, we had pinto beans, coleslaw and cornbread almost everyday, the only day we had a special meal was Sunday. My favorite meal today is my comfort meal of pinto beans, coleslaw and cornbread.

Yes, I want you to do more Cooking for 2 recipes! I absolutely love them. I have had such a hard time not cooking for an army since all of my kids are gone now. It's just me here and I've had only a microwave to cook in for quite awhile but hopefully will be moving into a senior apartment soon and I'll have a stove/oven again. Would LOVE a whole series of cooking for 2! It's still hard after 15 years after our daughter went out on her own to cook for 2 on somethings! When i was a kid we had pintos and cornbread and fried taters and onions, fried apples and Sundays fried chicken or a roast! And we ate A LOT of perch as we lived on Lake Erie.

My husband and I are 1st year empty nesters and it has been a real challenge for me to learn how to downsize family sized recipes, lol! We do still have our youngest stay with us for summer break and in between his college breaks, but it is SO weird not having a housefull of boys anymore! I was blessed with 3 wonderful sons!💙💙💙

I know this will be a good video and a blessed visit with the Browns! The two of us can't eat like this anymore, but we sure did enjoy my home cookin' like those desserts, biscuits, casseroles, etc for many years! I grease my bread pans with lard, just a light coating, it's very easy to clean and never gets sticky like when using oil.

I usually don't keep a big container of oatmeal around, but I do usually have the individual packets of maple and brown sugar instant oatmeal. I'm going to try making the apple crisp using a packet or 2 of the instant oatmeal with pecans, butter and a little flour. I bet it will be delish! You're brilliant Miss Lori! Love the cooking for two but also enjoy the family size meals and canning. You are my go to for both! I recommend your channel to family and friends because you do it right and explain things so well. Also enjoy both you and Mr. Brown talking and relaxing. I retired then the covid hit so our retirement plans got sidetracked but that honey do list was able to shrink! God bless you and your family and thanks so much for sharing!!

I have a 2001 tahoe with 253,000 miles and still going strong. I have used it for a work truck for the last 5 years and 100,000 miles. I have only replaced a radiator, alternator, ball joints, brakes and tires in the last 10 years. Keep you oil changed and your maintanance up and your good to go.

Like you said...whenever I have made a full sized dessert, which I really only do for special occasions, we wind up having so much left over that we eat on it for a week. My aunt in Calif used to work in a school cafeteria. She was a good cook too. I miss her and my Uncle Lou.
