Hey, I’m Sonny! I’m from the US but I’ve been living in Asia for 10 years and started making food and travel videos to document my experiences. I travel to different parts of the world, hunting down and documenting the most unique food each country has to offer.
If you see any factual food errors in my videos, please feel free to politely let me know in the comments. I'm a huge fan of trying different, interesting foods in each country. My show is from a Western point of view, but more importantly, MY point of view. It is not meant to offend any person or culture.

Hiya, South African here, I've watched all of your videos, they're all very special, purely because of the actual cultural education that comes with the food, even the ones you did here in SA, but this series was just very special to me because of the story behind Yia's parents, and you could just see in every episode, what it meant to him to be there. Keep up the good work team BEFRS, can't wait for the next series, you guys are awesome.

I have to say I really enjoyed this series. I'm half Hmong born in the states. I remember my mom who was also born in the US tell me a story about, was it my grandmother's dad or grandfather? I forget which one since she doesnt tell this story enough. But when my grandmother and her family were in the motherland trying to run away during the war, they had to leave him behind in the jungle because he was blind. Seeing this series and hearing the stories about the war reminded me of that old story. Watching this made me feel proud and also brought a tear or two to my eyes. :')

The missile-made-oven thing is very poignant, indeed. And kudos to you for putting a clip on the "rolling thunder" operation: a carpet bombing campaign of Vietnam bigger than WW2 in Europe ! America's folly and shame, if you want my opinion. I am always stunned how Vietnamese welcome americans despite eveything, instead of shredding you in pieces out of anger when they see you.
