Not really. What they're saying actually makes sense from a Blockchain perspective since that is what it's designed to do; have a list of transactions that everyone on the Blockchain network agrees is valid. A transaction in this case being "person with this public key owns this copy of the game", which you could then prove is you by providing your private key. You could theoretically use Blockchain for DRM as you can use it to prove ownership if you have the private key to verify you own said public key. However, they don't mention a cryptocurrency they use, which seems to imply that they made their own which would be a very complex task that's fairly unnecessary. There are cryptocurrencies you can program to do this kind of thing, the most prominent being Ethereum. It might cost a bit, but it'd be the easiest proof of concept.

So basically, Office Create were unhappy with how the product was handled, told Planet Entertainment to polish it, Planet said "nah. We good.", resulting in them going against the deal they made a contract with, forcing Office to use their authority to have any and all copies that weren't sold in the opening hours to be removed, thus causing people to think there was some shady practices going on. I never thought a Cooking Mama game of all things would have such a convoluted mess of a behind the scenes story attached to it.

It's important to note that "blockchain" doesn't necessarily mean "mining bitcoin". Blockchain is just simply a security protocol that is part of how cryptocurrency works, but can be used for any number of other things. including, apparently, DRM. "Blockchain" is a bit of an investor buzzword, really. It gets those investors wet in the panties, as evidenced by the fact all you have to do is whisper the word "blockchain" in a press release to watch your stock jump up five points. I suspect they were trying to shoehorn in blockchain to appease investors but then realized... it didn't actually fucking do anything for the game because despite the hype, the actual uses of blockchain are limited.

SomeOrdinaryGamers (Who does a lot of videos basically showing malware, what it does and how they work) did a bit of a look at this on his modded switch... Said about the same, in his own way, that it was at best a shovelware title or at worst barely being an efficient miner. The CPU/GPU loads don't make sense for a miner, at all and the loads/temps persist with the network disabled. It's just a very poorly optimized/coded game. [Edited to clarify, add more info]

I may have mentioned this before, but if you want to look into an underappreciated cinematic disaster, I would absolutely love to see you do a Wha Happun on the 1980 film "The Apple", also released overseas as "Star Rock". It's my favorite bad movie of all time, and any movie that had production problems including but not limited to an escaped tiger and the backup dancers being constantly blitzed on cheap East German LSD has got to have a wonderful story behind it.

As somebody who was born in Connecticut, any mention of the state in media just gets me a bit choked up. Because let’s face it, Connecticut is one of the most forgettable states in the USA. We’ve got Harriet Beecher Stowe with “Uncle Tom’s Cabin”, University of Yale, something about Minute Men, and that’s about it in terms of important things from Connecticut.

Im really curious about final fantasy 15. Its such a jumbled mess, but deep down you can see the making of a classic in there. But its bogged down by a scizophrenic narrative, chaotic release, and the story being told through an anime series, cg prequel, and the game itself with its four dlc side stories of its planned I believe 7 which were rumored to be part of the original game.

After realising all the drama behind this game, you can imagine I was very surprised when I saw the box for the game on the shelf at the game shop I often go to just over a week ago. I went looking for more information about this game to see if all the disputes were resolved, but there doesn't seem to be any new information that I can see. Please do tell me if anything new has come up about this game that explained how I found it in a game store chain. If it's there, that must mean it's good now, right? I've always loved the series, but I want to make sure all is well with this game now before I pick it up.
