Description:
Join us to discover how to make traditional Easter bread using an old Bukovinian recipe passed down through generations. We use only natural ingredients and traditional methods to recreate the authentic taste of this festive dish.
Ingredients:
650 g of flour
1 teaspoon of salt
25 g of yeast
2 teaspoons of sugar
280 ml of sour milk or kefir
50 ml of unrefined oil (homemade in my case)
2 eggs
For the filling:
500 g of fresh cheese
1 teaspoon of salt
3 eggs
A bunch of green onions
Method:
Add salt to the flour. Combine yeast with sugar, add 2 tablespoons of sour milk and mix well. Add this mixture to the flour.
Add 2 eggs and the remaining sour milk to the mixture, mix well again. Add the unrefined oil and with a good mood, knead the dough by hand for 10-15 minutes. Cover and let it rise for an hour.
Prepare the filling: to the fresh cheese, ideally not too moist, add salt, 3 eggs, and finely chopped green onions. Mix everything thoroughly.
Shape the bread and bake at 200 degrees Celsius for 45 minutes until golden brown.
