Yea I agree was at Pacifica pier. Too many people thinking they own the pier and throwing their lines over you. Got tangled couple times. Pacifica pier only place you don’t need a fishing license. So that says it all about the people there. But yea will try on the beach. More quiet and relaxing.

Hey Matts, As a kid we fished on our boat in an estuary, and we loved catching crab there, it was a really healthy estuary with Crocodile and Hippo, sharks etc.... so we used these orange sacks or onion sacks you know.... with like ventilation on them as snares crab would just get their legs stuck in all the holes same concept your crab snares or cages for the bait just way more basic, long story short..... we would use bait left over from catching Bluefish ( we call them Shad / Elf here in SA) , so the trick was to let the bait sit for a few days at a time defrosting in the sun while fishing for Bluefish, take it back home refreeze and do it a few more times till it turned yellow ( about 2 to 3 days), Dude once it reaches that point and it smells awful but irresistible to crab( always make sure to Ziploc them thorough the whole process when freezing it and defrosting it), i promise that its totally irresistible to crab, 100 % Success rate. I would say in less than 5 minutes youre gonna have a keeper on. Try some of that in your snare and let me know how it does. maybe use gloves when handling lol. PS, love your content been a fan from the start. Tight lines Bro, Kindest Regards, Lee.

at 5 mins. your trying to figure out if you have one on. ****pro tip**** after casting let it settle then take up ALL slack in line and set pole at 12. watch your tip(s). crabs are greedy so they will try to take the bait and other crabs will also try to take it at the same time and this will led to your tip indicating a bite at that time give it a sec for more crabs to get in the trap. also so you don't have to break your line reeling in as fast as you can, just keep the line tight at all times.

The head insides (not the yellow) is its new shell in development stage, it feels like egg whites, and it's the best part of the Dungeness!!! It's like creamy seaegg deliciousness. Yes the yellow can taste good or bad sometimes, that's crazy I hear it from you and outdoor chef life about the sickness about eating the guts. I've always eaten them with no problems, however I live in texas and they are probably sourcing them out of Alaska or Maine.
