Gives me an idea to make a wandering bastion that's controlled by the party, they go to different towns and cities and make money whilst assisting any of the towns people or guilds during the travels whilst also having the managing duties of the bastion, awesome ideas just keep coming out from your videos thanks!

Very neat! My group and I once tried to found a pyramid-themed pizza restaurant with a Sphynx ally as our mascot, but the DM found restaurant management too tedious and it didn't fit into the adventure well. I will inform my group that all these years later, Pizzamid will return! (the word mid wasn't used like that back then)

Hey that was a great video! Even tho I don't think my players want to become restaurant managers, most of the advice within this video can easily be applied to any type of shoppe players would like to create - alchemy and potion brewing, magic shop, or any kind of monster hunting guild. Thank you!

@@jeohranalfhir8366 definitely! My shtick is very much food aligned, but any of these things could be changed to make a general "shop" that players work on building renown, managing hirelings, and developing new wares for. I hope your party has fun with it!

Bastions are not such a new concept. The BECMI edition of D&D had Dominions, introduced in the Companion set.

Side note: I really appreciate your content, it’s helping me with world building for the fantasy story I’ve been working on as I never contemplated things like cooking and culture for that specific story.

@dancingwholeness Eventually! The plan for this year is to do a monster every 2 weeks, with shortform content leading up to a longform video for it. Eventually I want to go back and do longform for all the monsters I missed in the mean time though, but that might be a bit down the line. And thank you so much!
