Who needs Celebrity Masterchef when there’s a supermodel in the kitchen? Not only is British Vogue’s November cover star Jourdan Dunn one of fashion’s most in-demand faces, it turns out she makes a mean prawn and potato curry, too. Watch the video to see Jourdan reflect on her earliest food memories as she whips up one of her favourite recipes. Warning: Contains spice.

My parents banned the word ”actually” when us kids complimented something, because of how rude it sounded. I like that she pointed that out to her friend that it made it sound like she didn’t expect her cooking to be nice. -She didn’t even say thank you when she was handed the plate of food!- And so passive aggressive to also say ”QUITE good”. You like it why hold back on the compliment, appreciate it and express you like it. Instead of doing the whole rude bit. People when someone does something nice for you please always thank them! And also don’t go in with the attitude that they wouldn’t do a nice job. Be humble, grateful, considerate, and have boundaries! 💕
@MlleNnCo
@MlleNnCo 5 жыл бұрын
I HUMBLY think that you're taking it too far. I feel like what you perceive like "so passive agressive" is just their friendship dynamic, like with siblings when you tease each other on daily bases but could barely live without seeing each other. Notice that Jordan threw a "shade" saying that she's cooking for her friend but she doesn't no why because that's friend is quite "standard and basic" with her culinary taste. To me it's all just inside jokes and teasing. You shouldn't be appalled by it.
@soilgrasswaterair
@soilgrasswaterair 5 жыл бұрын
MlleNnCo it doesn’t matter how you judge it personally, Dunn, expressed she didn’t appreciate it, so there falls your assumption flat, that is NOT how they lightly address each other. Since the narrative is passive agressive and Dunn called her friend out on it there really is no need to discuss what it may and may have been. Just for your information, when others express you said something that they didn’t appreciate it is not an opportunity to not take responsibility and dismiss it because YOU didn’t mean it like that or view it as a mistake. The friend chose her words and it’s subtle digs which makes it mean. But she is not brave enough to just say it flat out she is not too positive about it. You do not have an agency over what people may and may not feel and you do not get to try to explain what something is when someone has said they took offense.
@MlleNnCo
@MlleNnCo 5 жыл бұрын
@@soilgrasswaterair But at the end of the day, isn't it weird that you're taking offence of what is happening in the relationship b/w two willing individuals? Relationship that you actually (and just like me, tbh) ignore the actual depth and the terms of. That's just the epitome of entitlement. Fully agree : I don't get to decide what you should be offended by. That is/wasn't my intention. I was just a wanderer ready to share another perspective than yours. Seems like even that is a passive aggressive endeavour.🙊 ✌️
@soilgrasswaterair
@soilgrasswaterair 5 жыл бұрын
MlleNnCo I’m not offended at all, it’s not my friendship therefor I’m not emotionally invested, but you can point things out still that you do see. And clearly that’s not the friend banter between them since Dunn took the time to actually correct her friend on her passive aggressive behavior. Passive aggressive behavior has no place anyway in a friendship cnsidering it’s is letting out frustration about something in a not so pleasant way. Direct communication with friends and people in general is better and does lesve room for actual fun banter (which of course is different in every friendship).

Surabhi Chauhan she didn’t even say ”really good” she was passive aggressive and said ”quite good” but yet she liked it 🙄 A friend that is not appreciative of your efforts to treat them something nice is one you need to have a conversation with...especially when Dunn could have chosen so many other people who would’ve been kind to her and showed her appreciation. She didn’t even say thank you when Dunn handed her the plate. A jealous friend who take some weird joy in pushing her down in this passive aggressive way perhaps? It’s odd whatever reason is behind this behavior. It was lovely to see how Dunn set a boundary and in a gentle way called her friend on her rudeness.

Lots of people in the rest of the world know how to cook rice just fine without a cooker. Most people cook rice for one little meal maybe a couple of times a week so there's no need for a rice cooker like people have in somewhere like South Korea where they keep it there for meals throughout the day.
