Thanks!! That’s a piece of undershirt fabric. I think they call it ribbed fabric? It’s stretchy.

Temporary stitches to hold all the little pieces and then they can be removed once you’re done your embroidery. If the basting stitches match your fabric you can sometimes leave them in.
