Making semiya payasam is simple and easy, have made Over a hundred times...but still watched your video ...just for the sheer pleasure of hearing you speak. And obviously .. got a good tip ..to add nuts after cooling the payasam a bit, so that it retains its crunchiness. Thank you Teacher. I too don't add elaichi in all payasam. It sometimes over powers the other subtle flavours.

Very correct These all originally is from temples. There no one adds cardamom not even nuts. Still highly exotic. And that strong taste reduces the taste of palpayasam With jaggery and all it is ok.. Likewise garammasala overpowers

@@cookingwithsumateacher7665 very true. My father in law also does not prefer adding anything even in palpayasam. Ney payasam also we add only fried coconut slices. It's an acquired taste and one has to develop the taste to enjoy subtle flavours. Some cuisine uses too many ingredients which actually doesn't allow one to enjoy the flavours of the vegetables used in it.
