Yay!! Finally a series for Texas/Louisiana gardeners!!! I was lost for a good while following typical growing guides , mostly based on northern growers. Just discovered cool flower concept a couple months ago, but still barely any resources on zone 8! Will be following. 😁😁😁

Here in central California we’re in the steady 90s still 😭 we don’t get our first frost till about January/February! It’s crazy

That’s a nice long growing season!

Love all the information about starting seeds. You have a wide variety of plants for the fall and spring. Can’t wait to see what you do with all of them.

🌸 so glad that it is finally cooling off so we can get back out into our gardens. I don’t want to rush the seasons but I can’t wait to see your spring gardens 😁 oh btw my mums from bluestone perennials are just loaded with blossoms. 👏👏

I really like the Cool Flowers book, and I’m so happy that you have experience with that technique/timing. For some reason it feels a little less intimidating knowing that someone else near me is having success with it! Also, I planted ranunculus corms last fall and had some lovely blooms in spring. It was really exciting because I’m far from a gardening expert 😂
@shesamadgardenerАй бұрын
So glad to help! I just started pre sprouting my ranunculus today … I’m trying them a little earlier than last year.

I'm growing snapdragons and lisianthus for the first time, both from seed (9A, Austin). Excited to follow along with your process! Been feeling a little nervous about when to plant out my seedlings, and whether or not to pinch the snapdragons.
@shesamadgardenerАй бұрын
I’m planting my snaps today … I’m NOT going to pinch them in hopes of perhaps getting a few blooms before our first frost.
@UnedittedMeАй бұрын
I ended up with a small vase of snap blooms (small) while they were indoors. Think I waited too long to plant them out, whoops! 😅 But it was great to see what the colors all look like so I know which I want more of!

Love your videos. I usually watch on TV and I can't comment. You should try some Swiss chard for the fall. I get the colorful kind and it tastes delicious with garlic onions and a little butter.

Good idea!!! Thank you!

Dill and fennel are great host plants for the swallow tail butterflies in the fall and spring. They get eaten up but it isn’t very noticeable when they’re planted among other plants. The catapillars seem to leave other plants alone as long as they have some good plants of dill and fennel.

And I love the look and smell of both of them!

Can you show us how you grow your plants from those small seedlings in that one tray, to the big full seedlings like you have on the table. I am just starting to grow from seeds and need info on growing seedlings under grow lights. Having it all in one or two sessions would be a huge help! I love your videos! Thank you!
@shesamadgardenerАй бұрын
Oh I have a video for literally every type of seed that I have started plus I do seedling updates and maintenance videos as well …. Please search my channel for whatever seed you are looking for!

Such good information. Unfortunately, I have too much shade in my back fenced yard. The front has sun, but the deer eat everything. Do you have any suggestions for part-shade cool plants?
@shesamadgardenerАй бұрын
Not really … most of these are grown as cut flowers and they require full sun.

I'm also in Texas zone 8b. Is it too late to start Lisianthus indoors for 2025 blooms?
@shesamadgardenerАй бұрын
You can start them now and grow them inside until early spring and then plant them out.
