Regarding 12:14, that tool is known as a "Feeler Gauge" which is used by machinists to measure a very narrow gap between to very close surfaces. It also used by automobile mechanics to measure a very narrow gap for valve adjustment to an engine combustion chamber.

A good morning Basia, speaking directly from the tropical forests of Brazil (a lie, I live in the mountains and today it is very cold). Best KZbin notification today. And the organization of the dollhouse continues...

Just started a juweldesigner course in Belgium, there’s a bit theory and the rest is practice but when I got my list I was like Ai this isn’t that simple. Normally I make earrings with things I can buy online from craft stores, and my bracelets too with elastic cords. But I wanted to learn more because it feels like I got stuck in one area. I found your Chanel by searching in KZbin to see how jewelers with more experience work what do they use and suggestions on buying things on need. I found one that was talking about a oven that goes above 1600 degrees or a vacuum chamber. Luckily in the course I follow we don’t need that but for soldering and all the rest yes, we where given an adres if we choose to use a wax mold to create a ring where we could send it off too. But that’s free choose. I’m glad I found you and how and what and suggestions. Thank you for the guidance! Greetings from Belgium

Regarding 2:57, to transform a glossy surface to a matte surface, you can use transparent Acrylic Spray. A Matte Finish Acrylic Spray will put a thin layer on the surface of an object which dries to a matte finish. Similarly there is also transparent Glossy Finish Acrylic Spray which will put a thin glossy finish on the surface of an object.

This was a useful and fun video. I'm pretty sure that last item is a set of blade feeler gauges. The bobbins are usually used for Kumihimo thread though some people use them for wire. They are available at craft stores in the US in a few sizes. That chain organizer would also work great for spools of beading thread or wire.

Basia, so we'll done! I adore your Hello Kitty microphone! 👏 ❤ I have 3 different cuts of needle files, I paint the ends of them different colors to help ID them quickly. That tool is a feeler guage for gapping spark plugs and measuring valve tolerances/space, etc. It's an automotive tool. ❤

Hi Basia, you are so so organised! I love these tricks! Can I ask how do you organise your silver wire and silver sheet? I can't get beyond a cardboard box and forever looking for a particular thickness? Thank you!

You order from Pepe Tools in the US? How much are the duty fees and taxes? I'm from Belgium and I assumed it would cost an arm.
@TheArtOfMetalsmithing25 күн бұрын
Unfortunately it's true, the customs are a lot. For me in Poland it's 23% of the amount I believe. I'm happy to pay it because most of the tools Pepe sends to me as part of our partnership. I genuinely love them and have been promoting them for a while. There is a shop called Micro Tools that stocks some of the tools by Pepe, you can check them out here www.micro-tools.de/en/byManufacturer/Pepetools/ And I think that some tools are also available in the UK, though shipping from there would still entail some customs for us in the EU.
