Lovely walk. I'm an anti-financial crime podcaster, writer and adviser. What inspires me is the stories of human harm behind financial crime and the desire to do something to stop it. I'm recently recovered from a broken ankle and looking forward to taking some longer walks soon.

An excellent job cool dude. I always find it strange that financial crime seems to carry less of a sentence than other crimes, even though years of the victim's lives are stolen (in terms of the work they put in to earn the money). I am sure as a writer you can express that a lot better than I did then. Ha.

The little shop you walk past (on the other side of the road,) just before the bus stop you finished at used to belong to my Great Grandparents and my Grandparents worked there too, so it's no surprise I work in retail! When I first saw where you were I was instantly reminded of the last time I visited the Isle of Wight and we stayed in one of those chalet parks. I remember seeing several red squirrels there, which I was amazed by as I don't think I have ever seen one in the wild before or since, glad you spotted one. The phrase "I got sent on a PGL one summer when I was about 8, I absolutely hated it", I could say that exact same thing, I sympathise. I won't bring down the mood of your comments section with just how bad my experience was but I can tell you one thing that is amusing at least on some level: one of the tasks we had to do (I think it might have been the first evening, just to kill some time when they didn't have any activities on), the staff split us up into two teams and challenged us to make the 'longest line', we could use our bodies and any items of clothing we were willing to remove, some people unlaced their trainers, some removed tops (as I did and stopped there), and some removed their trousers. As I took my place in the line I looked across to the opposing team's line in the fading daylight to see that one person had removed his pants and was lying face down totally nude. After this when we were heading back I told the boy I was sharing a tent with about what I had seen, and he said: "Oh, that was me."

Great walk, love winter sunshine (as a ginger who hides from late spring & summer sunshine! 😂) I work in clinical research as I grew up as a young carer for all of my family, so I wanted to make a difference and help people on larger scale... but before that I sold sandwiches and cheese for a living, because I love cheese.

When the sea is like that I always have the urge to find a flat stone to do some skimming. Every time I'm waiting for the ferry at Fishbourne I do wonder whether it is possible to walk to the other side of the creek, so good to see you've proved it's possible. I'm a research & development engineer, probably due to inhaling too many solder fumes as a child.

Yes, the sea was incredibly calm and perfect for skimming. For some reason I am incompetent at skimming. I can't seem to get the right angle, my average is about three bounces.

Impressive special effects at 4:19 That looked like the perfect winter day for a coastal walk (and bonus too!) I work in IT doing database shiz, I have no idea how I ended up doing it, there was certainly no inspiration involved. Stay cool!

@cdwc When you do, may l suggest the Mines trail in Laxey? There you will meet the Lady Isabella, the biggest working water wheel in the world 🌎 and you can climb up to the very top. The flour mills is not very far either. (Where my hubby works)

I tried using my bird identifying app on your mystery bird, but no luck, sadly - perhaps it was confused by the geography/time of day/listening to a computer?! I use it quite a lot when out walking, I've got one for plants/trees as well (they double as good excuses for a rest). I'm impressed my Cheddar photos made it into the gallery already - my legs are still recovering from climbing up the gorge! Oh and I'm a translator.

I won't bore you with job details, definitely one of necessity rather than inspiration. I can only assume the Isle of Wight has little to no potholes for you to regularly sit top deck of buses. I sat top deck on a recent bus replacement service and got thrown about like the f word at Billingsgate!
