Day Five - Norfolk Coastal Path | Bacton-on-Sea to Winterton-on-Sea | Cool Dudes Walking Club

A 14 or so mile walk in windy conditions but featuring perhaps the greatest moment from any of my walks. Seals! I walk past the seal colony at Horsey Gap. A magical experience.

@@cdwc yeah his title is Number 1 in star trek. So the public would see that sign and say "it's number one" even before they saw my company name haha. Right, dude, I hated star trek, never got into it at all. In my teen my then girlfriend said she fancied captain picard from the latest star trek telly show. I thought I'd watch an episode and see what the crack was. Obviously captain picard is Patrick Stewart even non fans know that. Anyway, i eventually met her dad and guess who he looked like? Yep. Bluddy Paddy Stew. Put me right off star trek all together....and her. Cut to 20 years later and my flatmate forces me to sit down and binge Enterprise (the prequal series with the quantum leap guy). Next thing I know Im on to Next Generation without question. Im no James T Kirk fan, or Voyager fan. But Enterprise and Next Gen are superb. Go change your life... its worth it just for T-Pol.

Hi Cool Dude. We are staying at Hickling this week and walked to see the seals at Horsey Gap today. Well over a 1,000 on the beach. Absolutely amazing. We had lunch at a cafe in Waxham Great Barn that you walked past. Very good food. Better than the place you ate at, that we also walked passed. Nice ice creams in the shop opposite though. Keep walking cool dude.

I would also like to say a horrible name for a plumbing company is Victorian Plumbing, which is real! In 2021 that name does not inspire confidence in your ability to fix my pipes. Holy Moly - I chose seal D as it looked dodgier than the others, and am still in with a chance of obtaining a life goal and getting the Freedom of Norfolk (do you offer a cash alternative of 50 pence?). As for the drain clearing company, I saw a van recently that had the company name and the slogan 'we want your shitty business' underneath which was très amusing. Seals are just awesome and if you ever get the chance to swim with them they are just like big kids, we got to do this in Kaikoura in New Zealand which was a great experience.

@@cdwc we only got close to the seals underwater so they did not stink there, sure they probably do on shore though if you are stoopid enough to get that close. We did go to a place in the south of NZ to try and see an elephant seal but unfortunately did not see any.
