That means each remaining nail has to support more and more of his weight. You can imagine how painful just a few nails or 1 nail would be. But if you kept adding more nails, eventually it would just become a really good approximation of a floor :)

If anyone is wondering, he’s demonstrating how force is distributed evenly throughout objects when it is applied. The force of a sledgehammer could easily send a nail straight through your body, but if the same force strikes a board of a hundred nails, then each of those nails has to share that force. Because the force is spread out, the force is no longer lethal. The more nails touching his body, the more places the force has to distribute to, and the less powerful the force feels on the receiving end. Edit: I should note this only applies for the nails that actually make contact. Pressure = Force / Surface Area. If he were to only put his forearm between the boards, which could only touch a dozen or so nails, then the force would most likely still pierce his skin because less nails actually make contact to distribute the force.
