As always. Educational and informational. Thank you. A true keeper of the land. Beaver and scrat very lean. Those on grass fed beef should take a try with a good cool. Two birds with one stone in my book. You farm the land without destroying it. May God Bless and move foreward. Thanks again, Bill

Thanks for making informative videos. I'm just starting out tanning pelts. I dont trap but hunt and take problem critters off the compound. Found a fresh roadkill beaver I've been working on. Got one in the pond I'm going to take soon so wanted some practice. Thanks for the pointers you make It look so easy.

Hey I’ve done your tanning method (orange bottle) 3 times now. Each time I’ve had fur slippage. I would love to hear your best pointers to avoid slipping. Especially for fox, coyote and coon but I would definitely listen to all aspects.

Make sure to get all of the way to the leather on the hide. I had similar happen to me. After talking to the Taxidermist I learned to use the full side better than the sharp. Most of the time slippage comes from not getting all of the flesh off , you can see it during the first rinse before you salt. Just let it dry out a bit and take it back to the beam and flesh it again.. Hope that helps..

I keep my skunky lures in the shed. The constant smell helps me to stay used to it. Also keeps the wife out of there when I want to be left alone. I don't really mess with processing skunk unless a friend wants a pelt. Been trapping for at least 50 years. Still learning.

As equally important as a good fleshing knife is a good fleshing beam. The right contour can make fleshing go so much faster with less damage to the pelt. I use 6-8 inch pvc for beaver and 3-4 inch pvc for every thing else (except mink).

I started with 7 duke 1.5 and a couple duke 2. Made my own bait, and started selling green. You only get a small percentage of money with green but if you need to save up money to fund the rest of your trapping equipment and then to buy your boards and other stuff til you can flesh and sell.

Love your channel. You have crazy good content clear from catching an animal to the finished product. Just tossing out an idea that would be helpful for me and maybe other trappers but would you ever do a bait and lure video? Go through what bait and lure you use for dirt holes, DPs, and beaver trapping and if it is homemade how you make it. 👍🏻

Resently ran across your videos and I had to comment and tell you how awesome they are. Very well put together and great content. I'm in my early 50s now but as a teenager in northern Indiana I trapped muskrat, fox and basically what we could catch. Back in the early/mid 80s the market obviously was different. Me and a buddy caught mostly muskrat but we caught 1 red fox and got $75.00 for the pelt ( big difference compared to now ). Muskrat if I remember we got $10 or $12 for a decent size rat. I just wanted to say thanks for the videos and keep up the great work.

Man you are one active outdoorsman. Reminds me when I was younger. I throughly enjoyed all of the videos I have watch and I am thinking about getting ba k into trapping when i fully retire next year. Would love to know more about the live market because that seems to be where the money is it down here in the south. How are people able to grap a hotel or fox by the Cape of the neck and put them in a soggy box? Seems like it would be so risky. If you could shed some light on the live market I would love to see it. Great videos and you show how putting in the work pays off.
