I'd like to thank a couple of viewers for the following comments: @Bearded Beast - "Cutoff 2. 6ft. Pieces of line. Line up the red button with the lines on head of weedeater insert one line into feeder about 3inches and same for otherside and just turn the red button and wind it up much easier and faster @Patrick Adams - "You don't have to remove the head cut equal lengths of about 5 feet. Feed in both sides of 3 inches and start turning the bump button. Just make sure all the indicators are lined up before you start" I hope to make an updated video soon.

For the last 18 months I've not let the lawn crew edge or use a weed eater in my back yard. kzbin.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG I didn't like the fact that they just kept cutting the edge of the lawn further and further from the rock lining the flower beds and leaving bare ground. And the grass was trimmed or scalped several feet around trees, etc. It was a constant battle with them so I told them to just mow and no trimming. I have Zoysia grass so it grows pretty slow. Obviously after a while it could use some trimming. I'm in my 80's so I can't do much of it myself.Finally I decided that if I could find a lightweight battery powered trimmer I might be able to do some light trimming. I decided to buy the LST201 20V trimmer. And it works great for my needs. I have back yard with about 150' of flower beds and several trees to be trimmed. I can lightly trim the whole yard with a single charge! The grass I trimmed was only a few inches high but the trimmer was more powerful than I expected.

LivingCooper yes this is the same model. Much easier. All you do is stick it in a couple of inches till you feel it go through the retainer in the other side and wind it up by twisting the red cap on the bottom. BUT your vid was very helpful for when you still have string on. The other way only works when there’s no string on the spool. Thanks brother!!

HI Mr. Cooper! Great video, I have a question, would this work for a Snapper 41ADZ29C707 29cc Gas 17" Straight Shaft 4-Cycle String Trimmer? Or would you have to replace the whole bottom spool? Thanks for the info!

Thanks for watching. I’ve looked all over the web and could not find the owners manual for this trimmer. However, I did find the parts manual and it looks like the head comes apart very similarly to the Craftsman. I would say look in the holes and make sure there is no string left on the spool, then try the easy method in my other video kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIGmdGWaeJKXfbs If that doesn’t work, then try this method and pop the cover off of the spool. I hope this helps. Thanks again for watching.

@@LivingCooper YES Sir! Thanks so much for the info and advice. It worked, I looked at the other video and fed the string in like you instructed and replaced the line myself instead of having to pay someone else to do it. It is similar to the craftsmen which led me to believe it might work the same way. Never would have thought about that until watching your video. And spinning the trimmer head 180 degrees!!! Genius!!! Pure genius! lol saved me time and effort. **New Sub** i've sent this vid to all my friends who have Craftsmen and Snappers....God Bless you and your fam!

If anyone is having trouble with the string, it's probably not you, it's the string. Just so you know, it holds 20 foot of .095 thickness string. I have tried two different string sizes, last was .080 and it still keeps winding inside, I'm spending more time screwing with the string than I am weed eating. I guess when I go pick up the chainsaw attachment, I may as well just get the right string as well.
@LivingCooper
@LivingCooper 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching, sorry you are having problems with the .08 string. That's the size I have and haven't had that issue. I appreciate you pointing out that using a thicker string may fix the issue. There have been several viewers point out that replacing the factory head with the Echo Speed Feed 400 head is a better option. I hope to post a review of that head soon, I just started using it. Finally, I have a video of an easier way to load the string for this unit. I'm not sure if it will fix your issue or not, but here's the link kzbin.info/www/bejne/mIGmdGWaeJKXfbs Thanks again for watching and sharing your experience.

Here isa tip for you! Put thestring in the hole and it pops out inside the exit hole. Grab that string, pull it through, and stick it inte other exit hole . Pull it through and cut it off about six feet long. Now put the head back together and wind it up. One continuous piece works better than two, just like a speed loader that Echo has

This was so painful to watch. This is NOT how to replace the string on your string trimmer. 1. Cut two pieces of string at about 4 ft in length. 2. Feed both pieces of string through bump head and cover. 3. Twist bump head in cover to wind string up. 4. Install bump head( now filled with new string ) back on trimmer. 5. Your done.
