Today Korey Cooper joins the show to talk about America’s social crisis. Several reports and polls have been released showing an incredible decline in the amount of people who view things like religion, patriotism, and having children as “very important.” Simultaneously, the surgeon general has announced a an “epidemic of loneliness and isolation.” Today we explain the difference between how Christianity and our current culture view life and the pursuit of meaning.

Love seeing you guys together. I can tell you guys have a great relationship. I love seeing a wife genuinely laughing at her husband's jokes and such. It's so common now a days for wives to just roll their eyes at their husbands but I can see a genuine respect that Korey has for John. Very encouraging!!

Today's is also a very good podcast, it's important to talk about the fact that people no longer feel important about having children and starting a family, and many people turn away from religion before faith. At the moment, they also struggle a lot with loneliness, which is why it's good that they talked about it

Funny how things turn out. For almost all of my life I turned my back and denied Jesus. As I embraced him I realized how he was with me all along, with skillet in your lyrics, faith and message, breaking benjamin, flyleaf and so many other aspects. Thank you both for your words and message. And to very one reading this God bless you

John & Korey are such a strong and inspirational couple. I love Korey's laugh! Such a wise woman with such a gentle and loving feminine spirit. So refreshing to see a wife laugh sweetly at her husband's jokes, rather than rolling her eyes like so many wives do these days. Thankyou both for standing for truth. God bless you richly.

Great podcast! I’d love to hear the church step up and Biblically teach & put out podcasts about Christians having children. It seems that young Christian couples are reacting in fear instead of faith when it comes to providing for their children, climate change, population control, and all the rest - so that they aren’t having children. I know that raising children is NOT easy, inexpensive or a passive activity in the midst of the current societal agenda, but I believe it is important. It’s character building and builds your trust in God. Helps us to step away from the me-first culture that purveys our society and is seeping into the church.

Personally, I would love to listen to John and Korey do a round table conversation with Senator Josh Hawley and his wife, Erin and Senator Ted Cruz and his wife, Heidi on theology and political philosophy.

You know...I find it humorous (in a way) that with all the "mainstream" Christian music we have today and have had for many years, the truth seems to be coming more from the unconventional, non-mainstream sources. There are countless Christian artists today that continually compromise and shy away from biblical truth - artists that are more commonly accepted and promoted in churches and Christian circles. And yet, here we have artists that make music which has been considered less mainstream, and more controversial in the church (due to the edgy, metal-sounding, how could this possibly be Christian, nature of it) which have ROUTINELY been speaking the truth as it stands in the true Word of God. They don't shy away from it. They don't compromise on it. They even preach the infallibility and completeness of the Bible and adherence to God's teachings through it. So, the humorous aspect I find is the truth coming from what many might consider an unlikely source. When I was a young teenager and even into my early 20s, I listened to music which made me feel good. It wasn't created by Christian artists, but it made me feel good. I loved it cuz it had everything to do with me. It was all about how it made me feel. But I also grew up in the church and realized that music would not be considered as acceptable. So, I discovered Christian Rock and was like WHOA! NOW I can feel good AND make it seem like I'm being spiritual at the same time! Clearly, my motivations were flawed. During that time, I gave in to so many types of music and artists that I considered good, so long as I didn't let it affect my thoughts and decisions (even though that's exactly what happened). One of the bands I listened to a lot of was Skillet. To me, I could say "it's edgy, but I'm listening to a Christian artist!" Again, just a cop out to get what I wanted and reason my way out of it. When I grew closer to God in my early 20s, I was forced to distance myself from not only bands like Skillet, but other groups which I had deemed "righteous," because I put a bad taste in my mouth when I realized the true purpose of why I listened to those groups. It wasn't to bring me closer to God, or to glorify His name. It was all about me. I created a world in which I could not listen to that music because I was offending my own conscience when I learned what I was doing to myself and how self-centered I was. And now... here I am over 10 years later in my early 30s realizing WHOA, Skillet was the one group I used to listen to that was actually the most biblical thing I've ever heard out of any one of these artists. And I'm all for it. I kinda wonder if during those questionable years that God had allowed things in my life that were actually good that I didn't see to be good. And so after many years of distancing myself from it all, here I am finding more biblical truth from good Christians such as these, despite the music being what many consider controversial. Now, I have to be careful, cuz my previous use of music was all about self and I have to remember the feelings I used to have will come up again. But it does make things a lot easier when I realize the group that made this music and penned these lyrics is actually (in my opinion) more "Christian" and biblical than what our Christian society considers more acceptable and mainstream. I absolutely LOVE the no-compromise approach. THAT'S HOW ALL CHRISTIANS SHOULD BE, but sadly are not. Coopers, you've regained an old fan because of your adherence to the Word of God. Keep. It. Coming.

Why is it that it’s the Christian rockers (especially those that are rock it in the lion’s den) are very black and white (sin is sin), and those that are played on CCM radio can’t say what is sinful in fear of losing fans (money)?

Not saying this poll isn't correct but doesn't it depend on who are responding to the poll? I've never trusted polls. I know myself & many of my friends & family don't respond to polls so how accurate are they? Looking at the world it wouldn't surprise me if this information is correct though.

God never said don’t associate with immoral people of the world he said don’t associate with immoral people who claim to be a brother or sister he even said don’t judge the world he said judge your own people 1 Corinthians 5 says so you are not suppose to judge the world that is God’s job your job is to judge the church

Not just that, but also, you have in the church, a grading level that deems those who are rich and are married as relationship material, and those who aren't, as unworthy of being a part of the church Also, a lot of Christian parents are losing their kids, because, the parents waited until the kids "could understand____", instead of familiarizing the sound of the scriptures right out of the womb. All of these, forgive me for saying this, all of these dumb Christian parents, will sit down their kids in front of a television or even play music around them, and yet it will never be the scriptures. And when confronted about why, they say "they can't understand yet". Well if that's the case, then put them in a deprivation chamber, we're all they have is a little food, and hopefully they'll they'll be able to feed themselves.

(1 Corinthians 5) 5 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that even pagans do not tolerate: A man is sleeping with his father’s wife. 2 And you are proud! Shouldn’t you rather have gone into mourning and have put out of your fellowship the man who has been doing this? 3 For my part, even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. As one who is present with you in this way, I have already passed judgment in the name of our Lord Jesus on the one who has been doing this. 4 So when you are assembled and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5 hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh,[a][b] so that his spirit may be saved on the day of the Lord. 6 Your boasting is not good. Don’t you know that a little yeast leavens the whole batch of dough? 7 Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch-as you really are. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. 8 Therefore let us keep the Festival, not with the old bread leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 9 I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people- 10 not at all meaning the people of this world who are immoral, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters. In that case you would have to leave this world. 11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister[c] but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people. 12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”[d]
