If there are non believers, atheists, pagans, satanists etc supporting his message how is he at war with the world. perhaps I am missing the post that says he and his wife have repented for the despicable rock thing (first and foremost call me a legalistic but Christian's and black sabbath... I don't think so) and I missed it... if I have, please point me to it .. but I am pretty sure a post from the last month or so has her singing Lincoln park and his interview with Huckabee he brags about tours and never says anything that points to conviction about that. But I would live to be wrong.
@926paaja3 жыл бұрын
@@mattbecker7041 I agree that you can have wealth and perhaps fame and still be standing for the true gospel of jesus. I do not agree that you can stand on stage with satan worshipers and claim you are standing with the true jesus. Scripture doesn't support that it speaks directly against it. So I am looking for the evidence of his repentance for this evil act. We are not to be unevenly yoked, sharing a stage with iron maiden, Metallica, ozzy, slip knot, etc is uneven at best. They perform witchcraft and are overt devil worshippers this is forbidden we are to have nothing to do with the occult or the practices of such. The holy spirit WOULD NEVER CONDONE THIS and to suggest that god was fine with it is blasphemous. Jesus did not die for social justice. That is heresy. The word is not a social justice racial equality handbook that is heresy.

Tons of respect for John Cooper. Last year when several prominent people in christianity (pastors, musicians, etc.) renounced their faith publicly, John penned a great article that did not crucify them nor apologize for them, but was honest in evaluating what those people truly believed, the errors in their faith, and cautioned believers from following the same false beliefs and to the same end.

His album comatose saved my life. It was the only message of hope I had through an abusive childhood. (8-18). I had a church but they were a very new age and shallow church. But because he helped me hold onto hope I was able to meet my spouse at 18. At 21 I got married and we used skillet or piano covers of skillet for every bit of the wedding (processional, bridal march, etc) and "The Last Night" by skillet was our first dance. That song saved my life and so I built my new life on the same foundation of hope. At 23 we found the Orthodox Christian Church and I finally was home and I finally understood Christ.

This is exactly how church leaders should be today. A huge majority of them "sellout" and won't teach about certain "sins". It's our duty to speak the truth, regardless of if the sinner wants to hear it or not. It just needs to be spoken with compassion instead of condemnation. If the word is rejected, then at least you did right by God. It's between them and God now.

Yes, many of you complain that John professes to be a Christian but Skillet is more of a Rock Band. Skillet is not a”Christian” band that would lead worship on Sunday mornings, BUT many of their songs are great Christian songs and the rest have messages that have positive messages that speak to non Christian listeners and you do not have to worry about what you are filling your mind with when you listen to their songs unlik many of the other rock bands. I have seen them perform at non Christian music festivals and John always brings up his faith. In the middle of his song “Sick of It”, he stops and asks if you are sick of addictions, bad relationships and tells you the only way you get rid of them is by turning to Jesus. His faith is consistent with his message. We do not have labels like “Christian Grocery Store Manager”, Christian Waiter/waitress” or Christian Hair Stylist” but these people earn a living all around us without compromising their faith. Not every Christian earns a living in a profession that directly spreads the gospel, but we all must do that job with Christian principles of attitude and behavior AND live a life that is consistent with our profession of faith while taking the opportunities we have every day to share Jesus with the world around us. John and his band do this as well. He shares his faith at concerts and to a much greater degree when those non Christian fans check out his podcasts and interviews. There some Christian artists I like and some whose style I don’t care for but I’m not going to put them down. If you don’t like his music, just admit it and listen to something else. BTW - many Christians that complain about Skillet have no problem listening to Classic Rock which has lots of lyrics we should really be worried about.
