I grew up in NYC, my cousin also from NY married a Texan, went to their wedding and had a life changing experience when I tried Texas BBQ for the first time 15 years ago. I’ve been to the best spots: Smitty’s, Snow’s etc and Cooper’s is my favorite! Their flavors are so unique and unlike any other!

I’m not an aficionado of Texas BBQ, being from Connecticut. I have had BBQ in a couple of establishments in San Antonio (don’t recall the names) and frankly thought the whole thing was a bit overrated. Anyway, I dined at Cooper’s last week and “lemme tell ya’”. Now I get it. The brisket, beef ribs and sausage were out of this world! I’m still high from the experience.

Mi Tierra if you have never been. It’s a very popular tourist Mexican restaurant in market square. If you want sea food, go to El Bucanero off of Bitters road by airport. (we did a FF there) If you like chicken, go to pollos asados los norteños off of Rigsby Street (we also did a FF there). For breakfast go to Magnolia pancake haus. Two locations, both are good. One of them is next to El Bucanero. If you want high end, Bliss restaurant is very good.
