Cops pretend to wonder why people hate them. Deep down, they don't care if you hate them. Not in the least. I've crossed paths with many like me. Respected the law, backed the blue until 2 or 3 years ago. Now I feel nothing but disdain at the sight of the uniform. Of all the people I've interacted with, none have encountered a cop who is the least bit interested in our change of attitude. Cops just DON'T CARE!! Anyone want to prove me wrong?

Most of those things aren't even illegal in public... Actual disorderly conduct is, but simply saying offensive things, particularly towards public officials, isn't disorderly conduct. Without looking at Florida or Daytona Beach laws / ordinances, I'd be highly surprised if being shirtless in public is illegal, and even if such a law exists, it would almost certainly be overturned by the courts if someone challenged it. I'm also not clear on Florida's open carry policy in public, so that may or may not be legal.

@Pariatical

@@joshfly210 Its a poor choice of slang, it gives the appearance that law enforcement is the law, when many times law enforcement is breaking the law. "It shall not be denied that power is of an encroaching nature, and aught to be effectively restrained from passing the limits assigned to it" Federalist Papers #48. Law enforcement also tries to push the narrative that they are there to punish people for crime, when nothing is further from the truth. They arent the ones that are allowed to mete out punishment, thats for the court. Law enforcements job is to investigate, collect evidence and present those and the person being tried to court. The court decides guilt or innocence and then the law itself proscribes the punishment that fits the crime. Police have nothing to do with the punishment aspect of crime.

I was pulled out of my car at gunpoint when I was in college. It was 10:00am on a Thursday morning on my way to class. The gun was pointed right at my head from 2 feet away. All this because he said that I didn't come to a complete stop at a stop sign. He also said that I didn't pull over fast enough even though I just got on the road and had driven less than 1/2 mi. He was travelling in the opposite direction and had to turn around. He was behind me at most 10 seconds. He roughed me up and told me to get my ass out of his town. I fought it in court and won. The cop lied and said that I reached under the seat when he approached the car and he lied about how far he followed me. I'm 60 now, but I have never trusted the police since that day. Thanks for everything you do.

Something similar happened to me in college as well. I was going to the 24 hour pharmacy around 2 AM to get my prescriptions as I was dealing with severe pain and couldn't wait any longer. I was the only car on the road at that time. As soon as the cop passed me going to opposite direction, he flipped a u-turn (illegally) and followed me for about a quarter mile until he lit me up. As getting my license, he came up to my driver's window and told me that my license plate came back to a Volkswagen. I was driving a Buick roadmaster estate wagon. I rattled off my license plate number and made sure he ran it under the out-of-state state, and he confirmed that waswhat he typed in. It was a fishing expedition. Nothing else. The mere fact that I was driving in the middle of the night in a college town, he probably assumed I was DUI. Even though I never committed a traffic infraction. That was my first interaction of many that left a bad taste in my mouth. They're not there to help you ever. Heck the police in my hometown wouldn't even take a police report from me when someone stole my identity and my credit card and use it to BUY airline tickets.

Internal Affairs holds them(selves) accountable. Honestly, IA should be abolished and oversight be handed off to a third-party board. Cops are given incredibly light punishments due to the union and IA getting them off lightly or, in a lot of cases, without any punishment. As police unions do away with accountability via CBAs, it only encourages and emboldens cops to violate more and more rights.

I watched this footage on a different channel and they said that the officer did not announce himself when walking onto the man’s property. So he did not know that it was an officer that he was yelling at to get the dog, he thought it was the owner of the dog until the officer came into view. Regardless this man has every right to yell and cuss on his own property. What really pissed me off was another officer telling the daughter to look at her dad standing there in handcuffs and then says it’s a beautiful day. Like wtf?

Why is it when they realize they overreacted they need to keep digging to find another reason to make an arrest? Not every detention needs to end with an arrest. Anytime the charges are dropped, an officer should be charged with false imprisonment and filing a false report. In this case, add child abuse for traumatizing his daughter.
@SailingWindGypsy
@SailingWindGypsy 2 күн бұрын
I believe they said they had to find something to charge him with after they arrested him in order to cya. If they arrested him and then failed to charge him, it would be an admission that the arrest was illegal and void their qualified immunity, making them subject to a civil suit. Of course they would not pay the civil suit out of their own pockets, but out of the insurance policy that covers these types of awards against the police.
