I want to look into the training that rapid transit police receive. They wear the costumes, carry the equipment, and implement force. What is level of authority do they have? How far does it extend? Is it the same as police or are they just glorified security guards? What about qualified immunity?
@furiogiunta78867 ай бұрын
BART police are real police. Similar to NY/NJ Port Authority police.
@phermey7 ай бұрын
They will have all of the authority any other cop has in their jurisdiction. If they train like all other cops, the national average is 300 hours. 8hr 5d wk would be 7.5 weeks. Guaranteed 90% of that time is exercise, combat, driving, equipment, and how to use equipment.
@Stage-Ninja7 ай бұрын
@@phermey I suspect there might be a different level of training being that they have a different level of response and responsibility. Apparently rail (train) police have the authority to ticket anyone within five hundred metres of rail lines and shipping yard.

They Can't and Won't ever admit that they are WRONG!!!! That would undermine their perceived authority and bruise their Egos.... Also, they're not paying for their screw ups, they make fundamental mistakes and are covered by Qualified Immunity so the taxpayer is punished for their mistakes in litigation and payouts! What incentive do they have to GET IT RIGHT, Uphold and Enforce the Laws and do the job that they are employed to do? They Don't!!! "We have investigated ourselves and found that there's no wrongdoing!" Just research "Peelian Principles" to see how far away from Police ideals... Today's Cops have moved 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
