Randy... all Subarus naturally idle high at first start, it takes the car a few minutes to warm up and idle down!! My 2019 STI and the wifes 2019 Forester does the same!! All Boxer engines do this!! Also notice the blue temp light that came on after first start!! That will turn off once the engine has warmed up to operating temp... which is when the idle will come down to normal!! Also.. the Starlink is Subarus bluetooth, software link system to where you can sync your phone using apple car play or android auto, you can sync most of your phone apps to your car touch screen, you can also setup a remote start for the car that will start the car through your phone, setup up waze or navigation, and you can also diagnose all major features and. Components through the program, and get a car progress report, etc Id buy that crosstrek... clean it up, repalce a few body panels and drive the hell out of it!!

On the Porsche there is a design defect related to the cooling system. There is a plastic tube on the back side of the engine that has been known to fail and shoot coolant all over the engine. The failure is obvious and the leak is huge when it happens . The repair is difficult and might be an engine out because of space limitations. Tires are also very expensive ($500 each). Other than that it’s a great car and will run well once fixed up if you can get it for less than $3k.

Coolant pipes in question are under intake manifold but nonetheless just as plastic and problematic as described, also the cardan shaft is a point of failure along with the fuel pumps

It looks like you might need some electrical tape on that damaged insulation on your jump pack positive cable. That could short easily if the wire touches metal when its hooked up.

@poplaurentiu41483 жыл бұрын
Maybe he will give it to it's wife Jessica after fixing specially since Randy say she did look at it and like it.. (anyway the Cayenne is way much nicer than X5 that she also wanted..) So Randy c'mon man give the Cayenne a chance it has a straight body, decent interior considering was a smoker car and with the little fix & clean we would love to see Jessica reactions when you will offer to her.. ;0)

That Subaru looks so familiar... Think in the video with Saab 9-3 turbo walk around. Subaru's typically idle high so they can warmup faster, mainly the boxer engines. It's completely normal!

I am guessing it was due to a dead battery? But I am not sure.

If you look at the Challenger at 1:20 to about 1:30 you'll see that the rear drivers side wheel does not sit correctly in the center of the wheel well like the other side. Take a look. I think there's more damage than meets the eye so to speak.

Hey randy, when a rpm goes up to about 1500 its a cold start feature where the thermostat locks the cold water and allows it to reach the working temperature, so as the car warms the rev counter drops

The high idle on the Subaru is because the engine is cold and it is cold idle start. It helps warm up the engine quicker. And it helps with emissions.

Randy, I came and saw you a long time ago at the shop in mw city. I bought my wife an 08 Cayenne S @ 90k . It has 125k on it now and Ive had to do some small repairs but spent less than 1500 in maintenance. Wife looooves it. Id love to pick that car up any day. With all those codes, Id almost bet its the wiring harness below driver seat. If ya feel any moisture down there, thats it.

Tough decisions, Randy. A Mopar or a Porsche? Both are rather powerful vehicles. As you said, Porsche parts can get expensive but I have confidence in your ability to get this up to spec rather quickly. It just needs a tune up and Randy's special AAR touch.

I think it would be wise to invest in a decent code scanner to bring with you on these walk arounds, if they allow that, that way you can get a better idea what you're looking at. Also in order to view the cars and what they've sold for, the site wants you to pay so much for so many reviews, I would say not a lot of people on here would be willing or even able to pay $40-60 a month just to see what the cars are selling for. However, it does say whether they've sold and looks like both Porsche and Challenger have already sold.
