the avalon was idling high because the ECM needs to relearn (dead battery). the flickering lights are because of the dead battery.

That quart of Hess oil that you found in the trunk of the Avalon was from a gas station company that was based in Woodbridge NJ . They operated primarily on the eastern states. They were in business for decades until a few years ago when they got out of the gas business a closed their stations. The also sold Hess toy trucks that were only available at Christmas a different truck each year and they are highly collectible.

Hi randy nothing wrong with airbag on the TT, you can turn the airbag off incase you have a baby seat in the front seat. Also it does the thr DSG gesrbox with the dual clutch. The sl500 is prone to problems, abc, pse pump failure which controls roof and locks etc, also the boot fill with water and fry the electric modules. They have 3x sam units and if one goes it throws the whole car into a mess.

The Tesla is a Model 3 Performance. You can tell by the red underline on the rear "dual motor" badge. That means it does a 1/4 mile in around 11.6 seconds and 0-60 in 3.2 sec which will smoke a stock Corvette C7 (13 sec). But they are easy to total due to the aluminum bodywork. If the battery and drive train is not damaged it could be worth 20-30K in parts.
@robinmiddlebrooks6854 жыл бұрын

The Toyota Avalon looks like a dream flip car. They are good to drive, and this one is barely used. Probably just needs fresh gas, a quick check with the OBD, and a little tweaking of the electrics before you put it up for sale.
@paulfunk18184 жыл бұрын
If you get the Avalon and once you charge or replace the battery and continue to have idle issues let it idle with all the electrical loads on then drive it with as many loads as possible, it might take awhile to relearn. I own a 2015 Avalon and it's the best car I've ever owned.

Randy, Tesla's always total because Tesla doesn't let outside mechanics with on their car. So body shops can't call Tesla to buy parts for it to repair it. That's why the insurance on them is so high also. You can't buy parts because Tesla won't sell them to you so it's pretty much automatic total when they have a decent size accident.

The Avalon seems like an alternator problem. It can't keep itself alive barely. That's why as soon as you turned the lights on it turned off. Alternator change and the battery will recharge since it's a brand new battery. If not, that brand is from AutoZone and under warranty so you can change it for free.

I was under the impression the battery in the trunk of the SL500 started the engine and the auxiliary battery under the hood was for the BAS, SBC and ABC systems.
@matthewmuchesko72894 жыл бұрын
They're known for that. Usually if the battery is bad, they flicker or it's just ground wires need cleaned.
@billz40714 жыл бұрын
lights flickering could be that mildly loose battery connection. Also not usually good idea to have a really dead battery and have an alternator charge it. It didn't look like you tightened it. Remember you have almost 90+amps trying to charge through that connector. It will fail if not really tight. Look under the Tesla and you will see the ENTIRE underside of the car IS the battery system. I would surely grab that nice Toyota! Almost NO questions asked!
