That’s a coolant filter randy, it helps keep corrosion and contamination out of the cooling system to help keep the cooling system clean. Basically helps extend the life of the radiator and coolant.

The 6.0 has a Heui injector setup. No lines to the injectors, if cycling the key a few times you can get fuel up to the injectors. It will have a lift pump on the frame rail, as well as a high pressure oil pump which will fire the injectors as it builds oil pressure.

I think that F250 is worth taking a chance on. I was getting estate sale vibes, too, either that or the person who owned it is still alive but older and had to give up their license.

I own one. The 6.0 diesel notorious for hard gaskets, oil cooler plus many other very expensive things to repair.

The miles are high even for a diesel. What concerned me was the view under the driver’s side. It looked like some pretty serious rust damage. I would definitely take a hard look at the under side of this truck .

A filter in the cooling system is a modification in these trucks meant to make the EGR cooler live longer.

I have had 3 of the Ford 6.0 and I personally haven't had ANY real problems. Currently still running one. Have done EGR delete and really nothing else. The real trick (from what I'm told) is don't try to increase the power without doing the head studs and it'll be fine

6.0 has a lot of casting sand from new. The sand was notorious for plugging the egr. That filter helps to prevent that. 6.0 is a junk motor in stock form, but for about 10 grand or so you can bullet proof and then they are every bit as good as the Cummins. No emissions crap either.

The Triton V8 and V10s some has bad oil pumps my Excursions V10 s pump went out at 125 thousand miles and I was done with it. Traded for a RAM 1500 and I love it 👍

When it comes to 6.0 always look for headstuds no studs walk away if it has studs then it's most likely had the head work that needs to be done to make them reliable. Also check out the FICM see if it's stock or aftermarket seeing the coolant filter is a good sign. 6.0 will not start with low charge on battery FICM needs the right voltage.

The 6.0 diesel is a good engine. To get the longevity of engine life. You must install the head bolt kit. Cheers

That f250 would be a good buy. I have owned many 6.0s and I love them. If they are taken care of they will take care of you. And it looks "bulletproofed" alot of time they do That coolant filter system when they bulletproof it.

Yeah that's a coolant filter most semis have coolant filters. Maybe the owner was a truck driver. Those cut wires are from the factory those are upfitter wires that go into the cab for ambulance police plow truck extra lights whatever you want to add later. makes for a cleaner install.

I own a 6.0 and ya its had its problems like everything else does, but its seems like a grest truck thatlost prime, mine did and besides the common problems except the headgaskets its been an aboslute wonderful rig and its my dream truck

On the 6.0 you can simply loosen the fuel filter cap and key cycle it to get the lift pump to fill the fuel bowl. Once there fuel in the bowl it only takes a couple of cranks to get it to start. The 6.0 is NOT a common rail. I have had 2 6.0's, have one now I daily drive, and they are excellent if you do your maintenance!

Duramax Fuel filters, at least the ones I have worked with, have a bleed valve that you need to use when priming the system. It will spit and sputter else wise

I would like to see if you could get that power stroke running though it wouldn’t hurt to throw them a offer they might consider a reasonable offer since it’s non running and if someone’s went threw the trouble of putting all that extra stuff on it it may be safe to assume with that many miles it’s had the bulletproof kit installed. I would gamble on it, it could be a diamond in the rough.. the only thing that scares me is it’s the 6.0

The 6.0l can get its prime back prerty quick its got a preeeeet high pressure fuel pump i personally love the 6.0l but my daily is a 7.3l excursion

Randy man I love your videos but damn your killing me first the airbrakes on the school bus and it rolling away and now cracking the injector lines on a 6.0 powerstroke. The filter is a coolant filter to help egr live longer before clogging, those cut wires are for the aux switches onnthe dash you hook them up to those "cut wires" under the dash and have power in the engine bay from the switches.

Hint on the 6.0. You can see if it’s been “studded” if you look on the passenger side, lower right valve cover behind the alternator. There is one head bolt/stud that’s visible (not under the valve cover)… if it’s a bolt not studded, if it’s as stud. You guessed it. Sooooooo many people say their 6.0 is studded… soooo many people lie.
