i am diagnosed adhd and autistic, and i relate to Felix so much on how my brain works. it feels like my mind NEVER shuts up or fully shuts down unless i’m drunk or on some kind of mind-numbing substance it’s constantly a battle to balance everything in your life and be a functional adult that i used to just give up and not care about what happens to me i had to let go of high value friends that were also high depend bc i could not give the same energy back. thankfully, those friends eventually understood that i’m trying my best and toning down their attention to me is what made them okay with me not constantly reaching out to them. so glad he’s getting some help or taking about all of it since therapy for a few years was the only thing that worked for me

A lot of the time I can just pool out paragraphs or jump from one to another. A lot of the time sitting down and watching a movie or TV show even is impossible for me. Substance use felt like the only cure to calm down and it just created infinitely more problems, these days I’m just trying to adapt to what my brain is interested in and wants to do

@notarielle441 it really sometimes hits like a brick when you read (or hear) that there are actually people who experience the same. I was in therapy for depression when I realized that I have ADHD through googling a symptom I have, without knowing why that could be. I ended up on a Forum and I didn't payed attention to the Forum name, but I've read two pages and everything they wrote was me. Then I saw it was an ADHD Forum. I told my therapist that I have the suspicion of having ADHD and she immediately, without saying anything further, said she thinks that I do (have it) as well. Unfortunately this was the second to last session before she moved and I didn't have any replacement, so I never did any proper analysis or diagnosis. So I had this thoughts often and often lately and bothered me: I'm kinda not myself until my brain shut down a bit, when I'm drunk or quasi-drunk, aka sleep deprived. And when I just read your comment, it hit me like a brick. This whole interview/ discussion with Felix had a lot of my mindset in it and ai thought no one could understand that. Because nobody I know is like that and I always was different. I didn't even knew what it was until I had this realization in adolescence. Now I'm 28 years of age and I'm still trying to figure out and struggle about myself.

The dude is pouring his heart out about how he feels like his life is falling apart and feels hopeless about fixing it, and people are talking about react drama that will be a blip in everyone’s lives within a month. Any amount of empathy makes it clear how vulnerable he is making himself here- talking about how he feels like he’s at rock bottom, and people still feel the need to shit on him because they don’t like his take on react content. It’s also absolutely clear that a lot of his more immature or inflammatory reactions lately stem from this dark point in his life. You would think it would at least make him sympathetic enough to not attack his character right here but I guess not. It's clear that he's really responsive to his gentle approach. I was surprised by how self-aware he was, and how good he was at expressing his feelings. The video itself was sad to watch because you'd expect someone as successful as him to be in a better position to make himself happier, but it seems like he's suffering from it all terribly. I had to stop watching lately, after the whole H3 thing, because he was behaving in a really immature way. I didn't recognize him anymore, with how he was flaunting his wealth, and how his negativity was bleeding into his content. I noticed that he started using really gloomy language since a while back, and I found that quite alarming. My hope is that he'll start surrounding himself with people that genuinely cares about him. Seems like that's what he needs the most right now.

This whole comment is odd. One could argue Dr. K is reacting (well) to Felix’s gentle approach and not the reverse as you stated. Dr. K has expertise in coaching but only Felix has expertise in Felix-Dr. K isn’t dictating the approach, he is matching it, it’s mutual. Also “I was surprised…” is a backhanded compliment in this context. You could simply say you appreciated x, y, z things. The rest of the comment is a bunch of subjective judgments, observations, and assumptions (one doesn’t in fact have to assume being “successful” means happy or whatever) as well as an airing of grievances. Save it for Reddit or somewhere else.

Unfortunately I didn’t have a sense of safe “home” much as a child and building that as a nearly 30 year old on my own is difficult. Without feeling like you have a safe “home” almost everything else in your life becomes 10x harder. You have no solid foundation to build on so you end up in survival mode all the time. We NEED people we can rely on in life. It’s part of being human. When we don’t… we suffer.

1:10:00 Omg, exactly the same for me. I relate to a lot here. Also, the ADHD doesn't make consistency or not frigging up all the stuff all the time almost immediately any easier. One just knows and experiences failure all the time, so ofc we learn to predict it and try to not experience more of it, still while desperately trying to chase our dreams and stuff. It's just the worst.
@oConshien Жыл бұрын
Scratched phone analogy, I felt. Think it also relates to the whole, psychological weight of growing up with ADHD and failing things / letting things fall through the cracks / letting people down, but not from a lack of effort or caring. Eventually, it's easier to say, "let's embrace the chaos" and not ever try to climb the 'wall of awful'. Over time our ego learns to protect itself (and perhaps, in attempt to protect those we care about) because it hurts less to fail if we know we didn't try than to actually try really hard and still not succeed the way you think we should be able to.

I don't know what's happened to Felix outside of the points discussed in this interview. However, he genuinely seems like a good guy who's just trying his best. I hope he recovers from this rough period and that he has some stability and peace soon 💛

Do you understand Dr. K that you are more qualified than most therapists or psychologists? The reason that you are so amazing at what you do is because your pursuant to a cause that is bigger than any of us, I would implore you to explore the idea that the reason that there are so many issues with mental health and our society is because the individuals representing the mental health industry aren't the purveyors of truth that we need. The reason that I feel you are so influential Dr. K is because people have gone their entire lives looking for answers they found because the KZbin Algorithm recommended your video. Thank you for the answers I've learned from your channel tonight Dr. K, I sincerely wish for an opportunity to speak to a mind such as yours, however I would be privileged if you saw this comment. I can't say you changed my life buddy, but I can say that you've answered some questions that I have struggled with for a long time. Thank you for that, and thank you for pursuing this mission. I appreciate you.

Honestly. I couldn't stop watching. It was an honest and thoughtful interaction. And I found my self A LOT in Felix shoes. Maybe it's a ADHD thing and it hasn't be the norm for everyone, but I see myself in this mindset too. I don't really know XQC or watch him, but I was surprised anyway, in how he is processing with things internally. I didn't expect to find myself there. Of all places, I never heard someone talking about this, nor describing things in the way he did. So Dr. K and Felix did have to a big extent my internal thoughts and mindset discussed. It was like watching my internal discussions on screen, which is weird but also refreshing and helpful. It reminded me that I have to work harder on myself. Thank you all for doing this.

I mean, he had a whole drama about illegally taking Adderall which turned out to be untrue because he actually had ADHD and was prescribed to take them by the doctor. So you're relating a lot more because you both probably have more struggles in common.

Dr. K is an advocate for mindfulness in a video of his that I think is really helping me. There’s just a concern I have. In times when I’ve been consistent with mindfulness meditation, I’ve been way less anxious and a better communicator and worker, but I felt as though it suppressed my ego in a way. The problem with this is that I think I need to integrate my ego more to become more assertive and driven. Does anyone else relate to this?
@franjkav Жыл бұрын
Why do you think you need to be more driven?
@patricklapinski1526 Жыл бұрын
I think the judgment youre unintentionally making towards yourself is your ego trying to retain some of you control. Listen to that ego, give it its space and respect it. However you dont need to act on it. Acknowledge its a part of your experience but you're the one with the power to act im a way that is true to your values. Hope this helps somehow lmao

This could be the results of having para-social relationships on the content providers side. By using your audience as a diary /sound board they can start directing the content creator in a direction that ultimately doesn't feel like it's themselves but a character of themselves which they get more disassociate with as they grow and change.

1:26:32 Kinda true, but in my case, it's the ADHD putting fire to everything I built eventually. That's the issue :( I hope I can get meds in the future and get some fires to not even break out or deal better with them, at least. 1:27:17 - I felt and was powerless almost all my life, though. ADHD can really, really mess it all up.

Hope they had a second talk off stream so X could be more specific on what's going on instead of having to be vague due to court legalities and the fact that they are on stream. That way things could be more clear between Dr. K and X but anyways, the interview went really well and Felix even said it helped him a lot which I as a viewer saw as well. Dr. K and Healthy Gamer are amazing at what they do. Keep it up Dr. K!

Being a therapist gotta be hard. You can only help one person at a time. If you are really trying each human story gotta take alot out of you. Let's say you help 8 people everyday of the year for 30 years you only saved 87,600 people. Wild why we need more people like this is an understatement.

starting from 1:17:50 and a little further was really very hard to hear I'm that typical spiritual guy who wants everbody to be happy that's not happiness what we're hearing here, that's the pain of somebody who's basically feeling lonely loneliness is something that I HATE so much for people to experience ... because loneliness means DARKNESS life should be light, fun and loving the heart chakra is in pain here ... I pray for Felix and for all other people who have to go through this I'm 99% sure that dr K was worried a LOT about some of the things Felix said, but he's professional and respectful and he was good at hiding it but every professional knows Felix said some very troubling things THE most dangerous thing is when a person is drifting away more and more from his or her own personality ... very dangerous !! that's happening here to Felix

Dr K. said about saying something vaguely and not directly exactly how you feel really resonated with me and what I am currently going through now. Looking for the sprinkles of gold dust for my own life. Thanks Dr K. On another note, gosh damn XQC has it pretty hard. I feel for him, some similar traits and experiences though not as severe.

I'm yet another person who finds it hard to see why people enjoy watching xqc. I don't think he's an unlikable guy, but so much of his public behaviour is instinctually repulsive to me. But I understand that many other people enjoy it. I am vaguely familiar withsome of his controversies, and none of it makes me feel more positive about him. However, prior to watching this, I did recognise a pain and discomfort in him that many seem to completely miss in their efforts to demonise him. This was an excellent discussion. By far the most human I've ever seen him behave, and enlightening as to why he performs the way he does. In many ways he has been both incredibly lucky and hardworking. He has also, in some ways, been quite unlucky. I would seem to me that he has trouble identifying the position that luck, both good and bad, has played in his career and life, and that the lack of recognition can lead him down some destructive paths of understanding himself. Great self-conscious that is just missing tiny, but key details. I hope he can find ways to deal with his pain and change the way he interacts with the world. For his sake. At the core I see a wounded manchild who is unsure of how to heal and mature, while living in a self imposed exile from the environments that would be conducive to that healing. I can relate to that more than I would care to think. Good on xqc and Dr K for a beautiful and thought provoking discussion.

Did he lose a parent or a partner recently? It's clearly crushing his soul. I'm so glad Dr. K noticed this in person and decided to bring him on. I think he truly needed someone to talk to. Therapy is not something anyone should be ashamed of needing. If you don't it's more concerning.
@pboe0 Жыл бұрын
Partner. from what i understand, they were in a "common law" marriage. He recently signed a 100 million dollar streaming deal with a website. He was having health problems, scary enough to talk with his parents about a will. This partner over the course of time was more worried about if they were in the will than xQc's health and happiness. so, xQc is fighting in court with them right now. there so much more drama that piles on as well as this. it is a lot for him to carry around
