Damn this isn't xQc... It's Felix edit: To clarify: I don't think he puts on a persona but I do think that when he streams he is very focused on trying to do everything at once, read chat, play the game, react to dono's and it can end up being very chaotic. I also think the reason he sometimes trys to talk so fast on stream that nobody can understand him is that as he said im this interview he hates wasting people's time so he wants to get his thoughts out as quickly as possible and constantly wants to deliver content and entertainment. But here in this interview we see a very different side of him, he talks slow and collected, takes time to think how he wants to word stuff, he really listens to what Dr. K says and trys his best to give a good answer that Dr. K can work with etc. I honestly think this is the first time I have seen him like this. That's why I commented that. It feels like what we see here is not xQc with 50k viewers trying to make everyone happy, and do everything at once as fast and efficient as possible... this is just Felix having a relaxed conversation with Dr. K and I think it's really cool to see.

@@lion-o848 that's mainly due to his streams being different from other streamers. Compared to other streamers and their communities, they're far from being close to what xqc had built. Yes, xqc and his community is mainly shitposting, that had given him success; however, that shitposting is mainly coming form xqc. Xqc allows for that as his personality to also show. That's the same reason to why other streamers have the joy emote on their channel aswell such as: Greek, Pokimane, Forsen, etc... And for other streamers like Mizkif to make fun of xqc and his community. To make fun of what he's doing that's giving him success. Sure, all the shit donations that come from his viewers and the chaotic behavior of xqc himself makes themselves seem like trash. But that's what go him to be among the top streamers on the platform. He's viewers are there everyday for him. The only reason he get's this dislike of him is from the youtube videos and top lsf clips of him, but thats only a fraction of who he truly is. Is interesting how humans like to humiliate those who are better, some go as far as killing someone because they stole the oportunity they seek because that person is better, like, kids are the best example, they ridicule and bully those who are better at something than them so they get rid of their frustration that they're not as good by making the other one feel bad about it which is one of the most disgusting things to do to someone
@manuelsousa4 жыл бұрын
Stickman Reaper It also happens when you’re the best at something for a long time and then you fail a little thing and everyone starts laughing. Kids are the best example of those behaviors and usually it’s due to parents not knowing how to parenting, and make them learn what is to work in group.

The way I see in that is they understand what they are saying but processing it is difficult because it is opening up something in the thinking process. Such as relating what he knows to it and trying to understand it more in depth which isn't "normal" so it requires some time to figure out so that is when the no comes into play. I could be wrong but I noticed he likes to take in more information to process.

I've been watching this video since it came out and I personally relate to Felix saying how he felt accomplish for reaching 212 subs on Christmas and saying how his father shut him down. Happened to me as well, I felt like I did something good in my life and told my dad about it and just shut me down and made me feel like shit. I still think about what my dad said to me to this day because hearing something like that from your parents hurts. So I applaud Felix for talking on stream about this. Good shit Felix.

This was incredible. Sometimes when we watch streamers on Twitch we disregard their feelings, things they may have gone through, or things they might be dealing with internally. It can be hard to remember that they are people, and just because they have a level of success it doesn't mean their problems go away. It's kind of the real definition of "money doesn't buy happiness".

The part about validation really hit home. I'm an illustrator and I used to feel that my stuff isn't great, even though everybody around me - friends, family but also strangers - told me my work was great. It got a lot better once I started freelancing because I could use the fact that people were willing to pay me as empirical evidence against my own low estimates. Even later, I started "tricking myself" by creating an imaginary scale on which I'd rate my own artwork, but add an extra 2 to 3 points if I couldn't tell what I found wrong with the piece. Essentially, I started "correcting" my own estimates based on the knowledge I had about myself being way too harsh. Really reduced the amount of validation I need and also how I view it. I actually accept it now as "data to feed into my scale". It's really weird talking about it, but it somehow works.

I believe from the way he makes statements about not "deserving" others views. He had a strange relationship with authority in youth, maybe that is too "scripted", but he clearly does see others as more accomplished, and truly does not like that people like him, because he is unsure how to love himself, and may even become violent when he is doing bad at videogames because it is so deeply/subconsciously rooted that other people are better than him for some reason. He has actual mental triggers when he loses. He has an addiction to his ego, but may be an emotional person. His being says, get off the camera, work on that man, If he does other things that don't have people watching and that won't feed his ego he feels his ego has a problem attaching itself to the flow of his affairs later on. When he mentioned that he does not feel he is interesting it felt to me that was a tell tale giveaway that he was neglected as a child. I felt the same way as I was growing up, and looking at my life in retrospect I have imbalances that played hand in and with my neglect of attention in childhood. This is a community of people (mainly young) that put themselves out there so people will see them... That is the mindset of a lonely boy or girl who grows up and feels the pressure of being seen, because an authority figure never gave them the time of day. I think that that is one big causal link that streamers/youtubers have as far as mental well being goes. It is young people who constantly seek attention. Do you think that if their parents taught them value and raised them understanding that they deserve to be happy without other people saying so. that they would constantly seek attention or be chasing clout or making asses of themself? I would hope not... These are a generation of sad people who want to share their smiles with people and be the best so they don't feel hurt or emptiness. They are then confused about why their great success is so confusing day to day, when truly their desires come, typically, from a very innocent place.
@lunatic21784 жыл бұрын
I'd like to think that childhood trauma affects ppl differently, maybe it wasnt his parents that neglected maybe it was his friends or some ppl he looked up to. I've had a couple friends open up to me about abuse and being neglected by their parents. I had a friend that told me that his parents were always on the road and they never gave him attention even when they were home. He would slap my neck sometimes when I'd be on my phone and do ridiculous things to get other ppls attention, even in the middle of class. And theres also in the case of me and my other friend who was abused the same way I was abused and while he became more shy I became an asshole and started to not to be as nice as i should've been which also made me more of a bold person
@Lagger-HD4 жыл бұрын
@@lunatic2178I relate with that story fairly well, but my friends parent's were there, just ass holes.I wrote this comment 20 minutes in, but then continued to skip around in the interview and listen to sections, and over an hour in the doctor and Felix come the conclusion that it is most likely tied to his lack of intrinsic value, due to the conditional love his father gave him, and the fact that his family never accepted his accomplishments. He has a subconscious rooting that if he isn't on the rise and winning repeatedly, it means he really isn't successful and then he feels inadequate and gets upset, because his worth is tied to proving himself to his father instead of realizing that value comes from within.

I think it goes more in the same idea and direction of "not wasting other peoples time". There is already some sense of self-devalueing going on that he might not be interesting on his own, thus wasting peoples time with stuff they already know. But Dr. K summed it up quite well. Besides emotions and reactions of each individual, we can understand the concepts but people are still different and exploring that might lead to new, more subtle concepts.

As someone who has gone through that cycle of negative self talk for years, it is a very weird feeling when that light bulb clicks on in your head and it hits you that you were the only person who viewed yourself in that negative aspect. It takes awhile, with a lot of therapy of course, also in my case a few rehab (booze) stays, and staying sober for months consecutively to have a clear head to realize "wait, everyone in my life doesn't view me as a piece unworthy garbo? they love me and care for my well being?!" It is liberating coming to the understanding that you have no control over what others think of you. "I think of myself this way so others have to as well." Being able to question and look for proof in those moments your brain engages in negative self talk is a great habit to practice to counter those instances. After months of doing it, it becomes second nature and in turn you start to notice you are viewing yourself in a positive light without even realizing it!

Tetris syndrome sounds like what I thought was ADHD hyperfocus. So where the ADHD persons focus is stuck on an activity (Hyperfocus) and then they tear themselves away from that activity for whatever reason, but their focus remains stuck on that activity. The name ADHD is a misnomer, people with it don't have an attention deficit, they just have almost no control over their attention - I think this is often pointed out to parents who ask why their apparently ADHD child can focus on video games. Before i was medicated i used to get this hyperfocus problem with video games but i'd also get it for stuff like work, even shit like social interactions (So a conversation you're worried about having goes on an infinite loop in your head, where you try saying different things to them and work out which reaction you want to try and get from them). I remember being sat in the pub one day with some friends, they kept asking if i was okay because i wasnt myself, couldnt focus on the present, and I stopped to reflect and realised half of my brain was rearranging equations from this part of my dissertation I was stuck on still. That one stood out to me because it wasn't something I enjoyed, it was so weird and pointless (like I'd gone to the pub with my friends because I was on top of it and needed a break) and so clearly not at all in my control. I think it's similar to when you dream about practising something from your day to day life, it's as if half your brain is asleep and is stuck practising the same thing over and over. You wake up exhausted, but oddly are actually a lot better at it the next time you go to do it. I really think he should look into ADHD. I wonder if thats what he wanted Dr to suggest when he brought this up. When you're undiagnosed you know that you're different for some reason and you want to fix it. I think it's a hierarchy of needs thing. There's no point trying to clean your thought patterns when you know that your brain isn't working like a normal persons but don't understand why or know how to help it.
@crankycal_2 жыл бұрын
this is a really nicely put thought! (sorry for random reply btw, i'm rewatching this video because i got it in my recommended) also, as i was reading, i started relating the unintentional rearranging of equations at the pub to me dreaming about things i was thinking about a lot that day... only to find in the next paragraph u said that and put it perfectly haha
