Copper heart jewelry from reclaimed junk

I made a copper heart pendant from a few pieces of old copper wire. No fancy tools required! Copper can be melted with a simple propane torch. With some hammering and a little polishing some old copper wire can turn into something beautiful, and just in time for Valentine's Day!
I'm using a regular propane bottle I purchased from a local hardware store.

I love how you took scrap copper wire and made that beautiful pendant. Your right, it would make an awesome valentine gift. I have purchased some sheet copper and want to try and make a pendant. I don't have the tools needed to melt the copper but maybe one of these days i will. Thank you for showing that.

Will butane torch work as well?

A butane torch flame is hot enough to melt at least a small mass of copper. I'm not sure how much exactly.

NIce job! Is there a specific reason you're using the file incorrectly (files cut on the push not the pull)?

Yes. The piece was in the vise at an angle that made it hard to push the files forward. It was also causing a large amount of chatter and noise so I just pulled the files instead of pushed them. The copper was soft enough that filing in either direction gave me a similar result. If the material were steel it would have been a different story. It would have also been more ideal if I had a proper work holding setup. Sometimes you just have to do what works best at the time. Thanks for asking.
