I was so focused on each and every detail that when he said it was done. I couldn’t see the finish product. I had to adjust my view from the fine details and look at as a whole picture. And wow!!! That was amazing!

Have been enjoying your drawings in pencil and pastel. As a suggestion for the pastel dust , try keep a tray close by and when you have an accumulation of dust , tiptoe back of the art piece and let the dust fall intro the pan. As you collect ore you end up with an amazing amount of colour mixing together to give you some great blends.. The manufacturer of one brand of pastels (Sennieliers)? has tutorials on Monday morning at 11:00 am est (free) That was not a plug for another program but just a learning tool for their product

I just found your channel and I did subscribe. I just bought a 100 Caran D ' ache Luminance specifically for the light fast. Since you are a professional artist, I was wondering why you are not using either Dewent Lightfast or Caran Luminance. I would like to ask if you are spraying your pieces of art with a special sealant to protect the life of the piece?

Lightfast colored pencils is just a scam. They all make up their own ratings and it's tested by leaving them in the sun. At the end the to day, if lightfastness is a concern, spray your work with UV spray and don't set them in the sun. :)

I think that most people get hung up on the textures, but I also think they get hung up on what colors make up items. It seems to me that so many don’t really want to play around with their supplies to see what happens to the various colors when layering and blending over each other. Many just want to be told what and how to do it, instead of trying to figure it out on their own. Just what I have been seeing a lot of, especially in the last couple of years.

So... basically they don't want to reinvent the wheel?

@@serenityjewel I had to take time to think about what you said. I am not 100% sure what you mean by “reinventing the wheel”. As far as I am concerned and this is from observation over several years, individuals who will only color an image IF there is a tutorial on KZbin, that they can follow, it is because they don’t truly want to learn the various techniques that will give them the skill sets that will enable them to color any image they want on their own. I have actually seen comments to that effect. “If there isn’t a tutorial for an image, no matter how much I msy like it, I will never color it.” I have also seen countless comments to the effect of, “that color doesn’t exist in ________ set of pencils.” My reply or someone else’s: “No, it technically isn’t, if you are talking about a specific pencil color. It was created by combining these colors _________.” Time and again have seen the following reply, “Oh, but I want to have the exact color that I want. I don’t want to have to create it.” That or instead of playing around with colors themselves, as I mentioned in my comment above, they want someone who already has figured out how to get a particular color, to tell them how to do it. The other side of this unfortunately (in my experience), is that these individuals never truly learn how to take their work to a higher level, they will only be able to go so far and that is it. For some of them, they are are okay with that. The individuals who actually take the time to learn how colors work together, not only to come up with new colors that “aren’t in the set”, who figure out how lights and darks work in order to shape and form items, these ones are the ones that go on to do images that are incredible works of art and possibly go on to their own images. Those who simply “copy”, will typically never be able to figure out the whys of how to get certain looks. They will never truly grow their own skill sets, unless they break away from just copying and learn the techniques. Of how to say take basically a flat circle, petal, leaf and make it dip, curve, cup, make folds in it. How to take rocks or a stone archway and add character to it and so forth. Perhaps these individuals just aren’t interested in being able to do those things or sadly, as again I have experienced, they don’t feel they have the patience. Personally to me, learning how your colors work together to come up with colors you don’t have, learning the various techniques in order to make your image look realistic and to make it your own, instead of being a copycat, isn’t “reinventing the wheel.” Then again, perhaps I have misunderstood what you meant when you said, “maybe they don’t want to reinvent the wheel” and if I did, I then I apologize.
