Love all your builds. what i thing would be cool is a hybrid of wood and soft plastics. maybe the head and half the body is wood then the back half and all the fins be soft plastics. that would be fun to see a build on and its action in the water.

I think I speak for alot of people when I say it would be really interesting to see you tackle a "super realism" type of lure. It's a great way to test your painting and I think the end result could be an amazing fish catching machine!!!

I like how nate builds his baits based off of theory instead of science. It’s like if a bait company made their lure designs without the hydro scientist involved and just doing what they think will work with imagination.

I could see this being a handy lure to use in deep-water scenarios, especially. It's heavy enough to get down towards the bottom quickly, and it seems to have the action where it could be used equally well as a deep-running lipless crankbait or as a large-profile bladebait. I would definitely consider using this lure if given the chance!

I wonder if you could do a "whistle-bait" think those old pressed metal whistles with the bead inside that gets rattled around. The "mouthpiece" acts as both a spoon and intake, the beads rattle with water turbulence, and the water exits from the top. No clue if it would work, but it would be super interesting to see it tried. To my knowledge it's never been done.
@spoot8835

Nate, you could try making an engraved and painted spoon, get out the ball peen hammer and do a little wackin for the concave. Etc. Copper plate does have a great bait, it's just outside the wood..

Funny you mentioned metal wearing out … when I was young and was the original bassin assassin after watching enter the dragon ! A fishing show was on as we were gearing up to head out on a 50 min drive to a super pond near lake Anita in Iowa . The guy said buzzbaits sound better as they wear . So he said tie a new buzz bait on your antenna and let the wind wear it before using it so we stopped at a local bait and tackle store bought a new buzz bait at twice I woulda paid at Walmart but you must support local and get grumped at by the old dude was kinda funny … worth it I figured. Well end of the story we arived and I got out imagining 5-6 pounders exploding until my arms hurt and my thumbs were bleeding ! Untied my newly worn buzzbait and after close inspection the blade was clear wore out lol garbage . Last time I tried anything a pro fisherman mentioned anything I listened too 😢. Lmao what a day that was .
