Had it for over 10 years on yacht in marina, The original was still going strong after the 10 years with minimum maitenance each spring . Fouling was just a slime and often less than other , similar yachts with traditional antifoulings. Brilliant stuff.

I wonder why no thinner is mentioned in the video. Referring to actual application documents a small amount of Isopropanol thinner should be used when mixing the product.

Hi Guy's, I am into a big osmoses repair on my 33f sailboat. I am down to the fibreglass all Gelcoat is gone. What would be your recommendation to build up again before applying CopperCoat? Thank's

First I would say it's too early in the season to continue your repair as you need to avoid any overnight moisture / morning dew / condensation. Wait for overnight dry temerpatures above 8-10deg C. Before applying CopperCoat after you have removed your old Gel coat you need to remove dust and grease using isopropyl alchohol and apply correctly a two pack Gel coat. Better still give the company listed in the video a call and they will advise you exactly what you can use and how to apply.

After the coating has cured, do I need to sand it to expose the copper? This is not shown in the video...

We recommend that after the initial application, Coppercoat will benefit from a light burnish with a fine grade of wet-and-dry paper or an abrasive nylon burnishing pad. This removes the thinnest outermost layer of epoxy, thereby exposing more copper. This allows these particles to oxidize more readily. We use the term burnish, as the word abrade implies removing noticeable amounts the surface. When burnishing existing Coppercoat, you should not attempt to remove the verdigris green colour, as this is active antifoul.
