@sampara2008 no, only in a kiln or by torch firing, an oven cannot reach the right temps

Hi. You can fire it in one phase or two. Normally you can do it in just one, but if you want to enamel on it we recommend the two phase firing.You can find the instructions for firing the clay on the Rio Grande website , item number 132007. I hope this helps. Mark N Tech

Hi. I am trying to find out if there is a way to adhere two pieces of metal clay together. I've seen where they used copper clay paste but the video that I was watching was a little vague. I don't have a kiln but I do have a Little Smith torch. I normally solder charms onto stamping blanks after I stamp info on them but the clean up process is a mess! It would be great if I could slather on some clay paste, pop it in the kiln, and tumble it. Any advice?

Can you give us tips on torch-firing the copper clay?

Hi, unfortunately you can’t torch fire the copper clay we have, It has to be fired in a kiln using the carbon. When you torch fire it, the oxygen combines with the copper and oxidizes. When that happens the copper won’t sinter into a solid form. I hop this is of some help, Mark N Tech

You say to fire it at %1700 degrees and hold for 3 hours....Is that the only phase? I always thought there were at least two...One to burn out the binder and the second one to sinter... Thoughts, anyone?

Hi Lacy. I don’t think that will work. You cold try using a paste solder placing it in the kiln and solder the charms on that way. But you will still have clean up to do. Possibly more than what you have now. I recommend try using the past solder like #103100 and a torch. Once you master that then there should be very little clean up. Nice except for the firing schedule. Many people have had less than successful sintering with a one full ramp method.
