This is super pretty! I dream of the day silver clay is so easy to work with! I mean it must have taken 10 mins or more to cut out that design and the clay was STILL damp! Plus, 2 cards thick is super thin, she just carefully picked up the cut out and it retained its shape! There isn't a silver clay out there that could do that. Ugh! I wish I liked the look of copper more, I would totally love this new clay. Thanks for the video!

Hello, Karen has successfully been able to create this exact bracelet with EZ960 Sterling Silver Clay. Instead of firing the cuff curved, she fires it flat on the ceramic kiln shelf, then bends the cuff after firing. Hope this helps!

My goodness, you're too cool. I really want to try this. I wish I'd known of this back in the day, when my wife used to love wearing jewelry I made for her, She's not too much into the wearing anymore but I truly think this could be the "together project" we've been looking for. Thank you so much for sharing with us all. LIKED and SUBSCRIBED!

Very nice demo! I was just thinking of enamel fill when you showed the Champleve piece at the end! Read my mind. Although silver would probably show up the enamel colors better than copper, no? Beautiful work! You make it look so easy.

Could you demo making a double sided coin? Also how much clay would you need to use to end up with a 6inch diameter round disk?

Great work Especially on video, Miss Karen❣ I know certainly couldn't do as well as I am extremely camera shy... Does one need a kiln for the metal clay? Or can one use an oven? I am very interested, however, feeling the COVID-19 pinch🤏👌 Thanks for sharing your talents! ~ Bethany McKittrick

Hi Bethany, for Copper Clay, you will need a kiln. There are some silver clays that can be torch fired, however we always recommend firing in a kiln. There are many table top kilns that are available. If you ever have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out to us at sales@cooltools.us or 888.478.5060

what kind of pot did you use to put the carbon in? What kind of plastic did you wrap it with? Thanks I love it.
@cooltoolsvideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi David, Karen uses a stainless steel container. You can find it here: www.cooltools.us/Firing-Pan-Stackable-2-1-2-high-p/kln-954.htm The plastic is a Clay Rolling Folder, which you can find here: www.cooltools.us/Clay-Rolling-Folders-4-x-6-Pkg-of-12-p/acc-709.htm If you are interested in all of the products used, click the following link and below the video will be all the products used: www.cooltools.us/Cyprus-Copper-Clay-Invented-by-Cindy-Silas-s/2669.htm Hope this helps!

Karen can you use a torch with this clay?
@cooltoolsvideos2 жыл бұрын
You cannot, base metal clays need to be fired in carbon, in a kiln. Check out our Learning Center for more on metal clay and firing: www.cooltools.us/Metal-Clay-s/2330.htm

What do you use to wrap around your mandrel? Can any kind of plastic be used? Also I see you have gloves in a bottle, what do you use those for?
@cooltoolsvideos3 жыл бұрын
Hi Joni, we recommend clay rolling folders. You can find them here: www.cooltools.us/Clay-Rolling-Folders-4-x-6-Pkg-of-12-p/acc-709.htm Gloves in a Bottle is a hand conditioner for working with metal clay. Hope this helps, thanks for watching!

Does the copper need to completely cool before removing from the carbon?
@cooltoolsvideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi Beckey, it is always recommended to let the piece cool as it is easier to handle. You can find the Cyprus firing guide here: www.cooltools.us/v/vspfiles/assets/pdf/Cyprus_CopperClay_Instructions.pdf

Will this cuff fit in the larger of the two beehive kilns you sell? Can it be made with PMC3 or PMC+?
@cooltoolsvideos3 жыл бұрын
Hello, we do not recommend firing this cuff in the Beehive. The Beehive kilns are not recommended for dimensional pieces, including rings and cuffs. The cuff could be made with PMC3 or PMC+, however it would not be as strong as Sterling Silver instead, as these are fine silver clays. We would recommend using a flexible sterling silver clay such as EZ960 if you are looking to use silver. Hope this helps!

Hi Would this fit in a Prometheus mini kiln ? Just trying to find the right kiln before i buy one thanks.
@cooltoolsvideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jo, the cuff is about 2.5" wide and tall, and will need to be placed inside of a stainless steel container with carbon. As long as the container you have fits the kiln, then yes, it is big enough. Hope this helps!

Hi...Can CopprClay or Bronze Clay be used for this with the same effect?
@cooltoolsvideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi Melissa, we have not tested this project with these clays; however, you should be able to. Have a good day!

Hi Jo, this clay requires a kiln. It cannot be torch fired. Have a good day!

I love this template! Can it be used with polymer clay?
@cooltoolsvideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi Carolyn, as long as you have a clay pick to cut out the areas, yes, this template should work with polymer clay.

Will this piece fit in a starter kiln ? Thanks
@cooltoolsvideos5 жыл бұрын
Hi Jo, it depends on what kind of starter kiln you are referring to. If you are thinking the Trinkit of Ultralite kilns, then no, this will not fit. Also, remember that Cyprus Copper Clay needs to be fired in a brick or muffle kiln with a two stage firing process in carbon. Have a good day!
