I remember I was 13 and I got stopped just putting real slow to a trail I normally went to. I never got reckless on the street and stayed all the way to the right. I figured the cop was going to tell me to get it home and he just got all angry right away and said this isn't street legal and just acted like a jerk the whole time saying he should arrest me throw me in jail and I was just like sir it's about 4 blocks to the end of the street from my house and it's not like I'm running all through town causing havoc and I'm not doing drugs. I have no way to take this here with a truck or trailer because my dad works late and I don't have a license and we have permission to be on the property we ride on and he just sat me and the curb and told me I was a delinquent and impounded my quad. I looked him in the eye and told him I'll never stop for a cop ever again and he said good luck getting away from me and from that point on I just ran every time and never got caught but I was about 28 when I was on my 929 and we were at a big car meet and some guy brought a quad and tore up a bunch of plants and wrecked into another car and the cops just stated pulling everyone out of their cars and cuffing them so I hopped on my bike and a cop told me I better shut it off and I simply said you guys are the reason I run and took off as he tried to grab me off it but I got away and it was my last chase. I'm 32 now and all because that cop was a complete jerk when I was 13 that mentality has stuck with me.

@Eddie Sloan not a safe bet to literally assume something without thinking of *ALL* the possibilities first, and yes there is exceptions to the rule (like noticing a logical pattern of events that in turn makes it a safe bet to assume the same thing is happening.) but this has no exception. we don't know enough of why the video ended so abruptly to make a logical conclusion and making theories and accusations just simple isn't a safe bet that it really happened.

I agree you're right in that the cops were harassing him...but whether or not they illegally detained him is a matter of local laws. If a cop says you tailgated and ask for ID, and you refuse, that's a good enough reason in many municipalities for them to detain you. I know it's not fair, but that's how it is. It doesn't matter if you weren't tailgating because a cop said you were and gave you a lawful order. But that's also why due process exists...meaning you get a chance to state your case in court. What you would have to do is beat it in court because a judge decides if you were tailgating. And if you beat the case, it then could be determined you were unlawfully detained and then you could sue afterwards. Gotta learn how the system works to beat it otherwise you can unknowingly dig your own grave in these situations.

@@chrism1598 there isn't a local law, state law, or federal law that i know of, that requires a person to shut up when ordered to do so by a officer. asking questions and giving your side of the story is in fact within your rights and really, you actually should because cops are required to be impartial and often required to get both sides of the story to help determine who is telling the truth and who is lying. it would be unprofessional for a officer of the law to not do so. depending on the department, they may or may not give you a supervisor but you can ask for one. as for the clip in question, you have to understand that some cops adhere to very old standards, before the widespread use of dashcams, bodycams, and smartphones with cameras on them came into being, and often do need retraining or to retire in those instances. even the supreme court has ruled that filming is not a crime. and for the adrupt ending of the video, there could be a number of instances why it ended adrupty, ranging from battery dying, to the officers getting a little too handy with the person and FNF Entertainment cut that violent part out to keep the channel PG-13.

It's all good if you call the supervisor and he/she shows up... But none of it is any good unless you plan to file reports on the cops and then follow that up with legal action. No doubt that their report will contain an opposite story of the video, aka lies. This will end up bringing a settlement for you and possibly changes in the police department. So filming is extra important as well as not running your mouth. I wish this guy luck.
