There are still honorable police officers. There are still police who are pigs. Policemen I know have repeatedly told me that between 1 in 5 or 1 in 4 police are dirty. The dirty officers tend to get promoted faster. The campaign against the police has succeeded in driving a divide between the police and the citizens. There are politicians who base a large amount of their power by causing us to hate each other. Hate is a tool of those who hate what America stands for.

So the cop's position is "sure I illegally detained you and tried to solicited a trespass to punish you because I don't like you, but you should be 100% ok with all of this because I was 'polite' while doing so." I doubt there is a single cop who would react well to an armed citizen illegally detaining/arresting them.
@duanejackson6718
@duanejackson6718 5 ай бұрын
that's my thought, it's an illegal detainment because he hadn't been told to leave yet, and in Most states you're not trespassing until you're told to leave and you won't leave. So he didn't have any probable cause to hold the cameraman or get him out of his vehicle. Because no crime had been committed, and wouldn't be committed until he was told to leave and refuse to leave.
@alastermyst
@alastermyst 5 ай бұрын
@@duanejackson6718 You are mistaken I believe. If I understand correctly the detainment started before the video and is without RAS because the cop showed up to the wrong address for the call he was responding to. That is what that whole "the other gas station called, not this one." is about. The trespass thing was the cop lying about trespass law to try to trick/coerce/intimidate a citizen into waiving his 4th amendment right about showing his papers, aka ID.

All of it would have been solved if he had talked to the station attendant, and found out that the call was from another station. Basically what the cop said was, "It doesn't matter if our side made a mistake, we will do whatever we want to whoever we want, and there isn't anything that you can do about it!" Is that a fair summary of his arrogance?
@duanejackson6718
@duanejackson6718 5 ай бұрын
@@alastermyst correct, my point is that he was unlawfully detained. Even if the cop had been at the correct address he still hadn't established a crime had taken place. So we had no reason to detain the people in the car. Because it's not a trespass without a complainant, and the cop had not established a complainant. Therefore there is no crime.

Officer Norris doesn't have the investigative prowess to investigate a fart in a elevator, if he was the only person in it, having dealt it, felt it, smelt it, and heard it come out of his own ass , he would still try to gaslight the next person to step in the elevator, and accuse them of doing it. The way he came back from inside this gas station, having just found out he was at the wrong place, he just can't shut up with trying to justify it. He should have realized his failure to investigate by contacting the caller first, getting the correct story, and gathering evidence prior to even making contact with the alleged perpetrator. That way, he would have a reasonable detention, instead of this fiasco, that he keeps trying to justify. Too big of ego, and too little common sense, make Norris here,a menus to the public, and a liability to his department.

Full year of Civics, The US Constitution and the Founders. Minimum. One life saved, one false arrest averted, one malicious prosecution avoided and one taxpayer funded lawsuit payout averted would make it well worth the training. At least, to the Citizens who bear the brunt of LE and prosecutorial malfeasance, incompetence and ineptitude. The members of LE, in particular, and our ‘Justice System’ in general, MUST have some skin in the game or sorely needed, and long overdue, change will never be allowed in our presently corrupt LE/Judicial System. THE PEOPLE should have the authority to control and monitor LE and our courts, NOT the usual suspects who are committing these crimes, over and over and over again.

Although it seemed confrontational and an attempt to escalate the situation (which I agree) There is nothing stopping law enforcement from asking a property owner if they want someone trespassed off their property. Its how law enforcement handles the trespass warning which is the factor. Under current Florida law the deputy still couldn't get the mans ID for a trespass warning and would have to allow the man the opportunity to freely leave the property. The deputy would only be able to take action if the man refused to leave the property after being given notice of a trespass warning.
