The poem this week was truly a thing of joy. Well done Sam. Well done.

4:15 - Hank, I know you're a very busy man, but I would definitely 100% watch/listen to you read all 700 pages. both because i think it'll be informative, and i find your voice relaxing while i work :)

Him reading it through entirely (or even just the most relevant bits) interspersed with his thoughts and translations of what certain things mean and their implications would be incredible. An enormous undertaking and a pain in the butt for him undoubtedly, and I feel like it wouldn't be very popular in terms of what people normally consider "popular" (ie: rapid view counts) but I could see him making a very helpful and interesting guide for looking at bills like that (and that one in particular) that people would use as a study reference again and again for years.

It was very heart warming to hear Hank refer to a 22 year old as “Fresh eyes and bushy tailed” because I am currently 22 and I feel like an elder, so being reminded that I am indeed fresh eyed is nice.. idk if that makes sense lol

"Pistol Shrimp Sex Dungeon" sounds like a song title to me, like something The Misfits would have made during punk rock's infancy.

I think Sam carries the whole podcast by staying on topic, and always having an amusing comment. I wouldn't watch this if Sam wasn't Involved, I love this podcast! #samfan

So, neither “sex blanket” or “sex dungeon” were things I was expecting when clicking on the link, but here we are. Way to keep me on my toes, SciShow Tangents.

love the tangents style would also be cool if the person with the most hank bucks could go on to host the next episode. another podcast Distractible does that and it seems to work really well. understandable if you don't want to copycat however.

I've Pavlov'd myself into listening to Tangents during most weightlifting sessions so I've heard most older episodes 2-3+ times. i like when old episodes teach or at least give a hint to new episodes' quiz answers. Feels like an unfair advantage 😈

So I'm binging the podcast from the beginning and the 'coral concerts' was part of Sam's Fact Off from the episode on Sound. Or at least very close. His fact was about scientists monitoring coral reefs with microphones and using speakers to attract fish to artificial reefs for the same reasons giving in the ToF. So when Ceri says she feels like she's hear it before.. yeah, she has. From Sam. Back in 2019.

Hank! Why do you hate Sam?! Ceri's fact wasn't even about reefs! (Don't get me wrong, it was cool AF, and I (don't think) I have a Tangents favorite, but come on now. Where's your scientific objectivity? #imnotmadimjustdisappointed)

About artificial reefs: we should expect fewer fish and coral species because the reef is so much younger than natural coral reefs. Species diversity always take a long time, pretty sure than It takes more time than the artificial coral had.
