Thank you so much for this very helpful information!! I was in a snapdragon haze of confusion! This totally clarified all of it!! They have become a favored flower to grow after only 2 years!!

This video had a lot of great info! Re: I didn't know that when a bee polinates it makes the bloom fall off. I harvest when bottom 1/3 are open. Also didn't know about using tall, narrow bucket so they are straight up in bucket. Thank you the tips!

Thanks for the info. While you are in a very different climate, I can adapt your info to my planting times/conditions. I'm a zone 8 in the Pacific Northwest, in this climate it is best to plant all of the groups out in the fall and they will naturally bloom in succession at their preferred time. Really takes the guess work out of planting. I also harvest from mid-May through end of July. They keep growing all summer, not good in the vase after July.

Hi - thanks for the video. I had great snaps last year, but this year they were a total bust. Johnny's says Mme Butterfly snaps (Mix) are a group 3-4. Do you find them to act more like a 1-2 in your area, or is that info from a seed packet from a different company? I can't overwinter snaps here in Qc as our freeze is too deep. so I have to plant out in early spring. I am hoping to eventually land on just one variety that will work across the whole of the summer, I am going to trial Mme Butterfly in 2025 to see if it might be the one!

Definitely don’t agree that Madame is group 3/4. It is maybe 2/3 but i put them closer to the 2 group for heat tolerance

Shame as my seeds say to plant in Spring in sub-tropics, which I’ve just done. All madam butterfly. Will look for group 3 and 4 next time.

We are buying a piece of property and my husband wants to put a vineyard there. I would also like to sell flowers. My husband thinks we can afford a hoop house. Besides the snapdragons what else would you put in the hoop house to protect it, Dahlias I'm sure. What are some other suggestions?
