You can rotate the motor 90 degrees on the gear housing. So the blade cuts vertically. Without having to spin your wrist. Just remove the 4 screws and spin it. Also you can change how the guard button works. I like changing it from the factory setup. It’s all in the manual.

I got this new grinder and as it does eat batteries but the amount of grinding and cutting you can get done in that time is substantially more then other grinders. This thing really is a beast. Hands down prolly dewalt best cordless tool they have ever made. Ergonomics, comfort, power and all. I even attached a rafter hook to mine. i have a couple 12ah as well and some more 9ah plus 4 port fast charger so honestly for me im never out of juice

That sounds like an awesome setup you have. We agree, this grinder will really get the work done, and it sounds like you have the right idea for batteries. Thanks for watching and commenting.

The 9ah battery can deliver the most power! The most total watts out at least. The 12ah and 15ah have more capacity, but can not deliver the same peak power as the 9.

This thing is a beast! I have the 40v makita system, I have the Makita GAG011. It is also a beast, I would love to see you test the 40v makita grinders if you haven’t already! Mine has the wireless vacuum start and X-lock for the disk attachment. I love the x lock because it is so much faster and so easy!

Damn I get so much done with the basic Dewalt cordless 20v grinder. I put it thru hell and so much abuse and still going. Can’t imagine what this beast would do..... ima go get it soon.... great content 👍

Definitely, they have made a great grinder. Supposedly, the new Milwaukee M18 grinder is supposed to be legit as well, but we haven't reviewed it yet.

They sell the exact same grinder as a 7"/180mm now, well it has a slightly different gear housing to run at 6,000RPM rather than 9,000 and a different guard but the handle, motor, etc. is the same. They reckon it has 30% more torque, probably better than most corded 7/9s, would def. be handier.
@marcowens35222 жыл бұрын
Wait the new dewalt dcg440 7inch has the same motor as the dcg418? That's not what I heard🤔
@mikekahotea81482 жыл бұрын
@@marcowens3522 I got both 418 and 440 . The 440/7"has more power than my brother in-laws 7" Milwaukee 9/7"grinder ( it's useless on 9" cutting )but good on 9" sander polishimg and lite to medium on grinding. The Milwaukee 9 came out with 2 safety guards, 1 for 7" the bigger one for 9 inch. When I change to 7" ma'an it's a beast on H O/ 6 ah. The 440 nxj was more grunty and faster than the Milwaukee and longer run time on 2ahx60v flexvolt /6ah 18 volt .Tested them both on 1" inch hard faced grader blade same battery . Length cut DW7"1200 mm and the MW 7"on 1050. The Waukee was smoother than the DW. The DW had abit of vibration, but the power and speed was there on vertical cuts . I think that was abit hash cutting,even for my corded 7" grinder's . My brother in-law will be handing the Waukee to me soon cos he gone crook and can't move around much now

Great tool I love it. For cutting tiles, do you recomment the 12 aH? What battery would you reccomend?
@Shoptoolreviews4 жыл бұрын
It depends on how much tile you're cutting. It should be fine with the 9ah unless you're using this as your primary tile cutting tool, then I'd step up to the 12Ah. Thanks for watching.

I only had 6 ah flex, 5ah, and 2ah batteries at the time. That worked out for me. If I get more into the 9ah flex batteries, I'll need to consider a 4 place rapid.

@jaywelker55663 жыл бұрын
@@miguelledezma1394 nope, that pack had 21700s in it. @ 2:01 you can see the little metal tabs showing through along the battery rails and a manufacture date of 2019 on it. The 20700 packs didn't have those. They switched from 20700s to 21700s in the 6.0 XR and 9.0 FV pack in mid-late 2018. The pack you're talking about just had an updated sticker, it has nothing to do with what cells are in it.
