@@cxngo8124 I doubt that. Yes the 9900K gives you good fps but it will not give you good frame pacing in modern games. You will experiment stuttering. You can see it in the fps graphs, much more "spiky" for the 9900K vs 13600K.

I'm using a Fuma 2 which should be way worse than a 240mm and my 13600k runs 60-75 at, one suggestion I can give you that has nothing to do with the cooler is if your case is in some enclosed space try moving it to an open one, I had the same problem and hot air couldn't get out easily and after changing position it dropped by 10-15c

First of all, what is being claimed is fundamentally wrong! Every CPU is a bottleneck for the 4090, but you can still break a 4090 with any game and these 1080p tests are also nonsense with such hardware. Among other things, I also have a 9900k in my old gaming setup, with a 3080ti I can achieve ultrawide e.g. 140 to 150 frames in Destiny 2 and if I play around with the settings I even get a constant 175 frames, with the 4090 it is constant 175 frames. Please ask in other forums how things are going with your 9900k, here you will only hear the usual... uprgade too weak etc etc...

So, asking everyone's opinion... Is it worth upgrading CPU's? I'm currently running an i9 9900k with a Zotac RTX 4080... My motherboard is a socket 1151, thus making it incompatible with the new processor's. I'd have the upgrade the entire motherboard as well just to run the newer CPU's.

Definitely, the i9 9900K will surely bottleneck the RTX 4080 (even at 4K, but in very few games it may not). I’d recommend you upgrading your CPU to an i7 13700K at least. The i7 13700K is the perfect CPU to pair with the RTX 4080. But if you’re also considering AMD, then a Ryzen 7 7700X would be a better CPU choice, you can also go with the Ryzen 7 7800X3D if you don’t mind the worse productivity performance than compared to the 7700X.

13th gen is very impressive but it shines with DDR5. Further 25-30% can be extracted out of 9900K at 5ghz and 4200mhz+ memory with very low latency (proof on my channel). 3600mhz is truly a joke with 9-10th gen, especially with loose timings.

Because they are more CPU demanding than low. If you lower game details you reduce stress on both CPU and GPU so the low resolution and Ultra settings is the way to go with CPU benching.

@@anton49476 good luck overclocking 13600K above ddr4 4000+ and its uncore to 5ghz then if it does it better ;) 13600K, and all the cpus after 10th gen are worse at memory latency (and the ring clocks lower because of the e cores). Its imc seems to be more bandwidth optimized for ddr5. 13600K is already taking advantage of higher ddr5 bandwidth in this video, but I highly doubt that 9900K here is taking advantage of low latencies of ddr4. To say it shortly, 9900K will gain more fps if ram is oced properly than 13600K at above 6000mhz, therefore you're wrong. No way I'm saying 13600K is worse, it's obviously much better overall. And certainly it can get even better with an oc. But as always with Intel 14nm, their beastly imcs are overlooked and are the last part to consider when in reality their data starvation leads to the biggest performance bottleneck.

Guys, the 9900K is actually still very good. Keep in mind he is using an RTX 4090 and the i9 isn't even overclocked at 1080p. And the performance difference seems go to be around 30-40 fps which seems like a lot, but again he is using A 4090. Most people nowadays I assume are mostly using 3060 Ti's, 3070's or hell, even 20 series GPUs and same for AMD which will probably have almost no difference. So whoever bought a 9900K in 2018 definitely got their money's worth.

Работает у меня 9900k вместе с rtx3080. Апгрейд на 13600k выходит в 100k - наверное, лучше к этим 100k приложить деньги от продажи 3080 и поменяться на 4080. Толку точно будет больше.

А я только что к своему i9-9900KF купил в пару RX 7800 XT. Сейчас сижу и думаю, на хрена :( Играю в Lords of the Fallen 2023 на максимальных настройках в 1080р. Частоту фпс ограничил на 60. GPU нагружается до 90%, а CPU порядка 30%... точно даже не помню. И тут вдруг мне кто-то объясняет в этом видео, что процессора мне видите ли не хватает. :(((

As a gamer with a foundation in pc and console gaming from 1985, this pairing for 1080p gaming while shows the weakness of the older cpu, makes no sense. I would pair a 4090 with the 9900k for 4k gaming however. Pro gamers likely would pair the fast 13600k overclocked with other a 4090 for competition, and likely run with settings cranked all the way down for max fps. Anyone just looking to game with the latest games in the latest resolution would benefit from a video showcasing how different gpu and cpu pairings work at each resolution for budget minded buyers all the way to money is no object ballers.
