Hi, thanks for this video ! Very useful. We don't need to rewrite the topic question in the introduction anymore ? Am I understanding this correctly ?

Hi, this is a very good question. In the introduction, if you rewrite the topic question just before taking a firm position, it will be redundant. For example, in the video, the topic question is "Should students be allowed to carry cell phones in school?" If you write "Students should be allowed to carry cell phones in school." as your thesis statement just after it, there will be a lot of repetition. In the Ministry Rubric, to obtain the A or B for the introduction, you need to be riveting or engaging. Using or rewriting the topic question in the introduction, although sometimes appropriate, would not be riveting or engaging for the reader. A good way to use the topic question in your introduction, is to rephrase it, to make it your own. Hopefully this answers your question.
