Excellent Video Doctor - THX. My Dextroscoliosis of 25 degrees was Created by my right leg being 1" shorter - the result of a fractured femur in 1966 at age 15. I'm 73 now. That Trauma has affected my Spinal Health in a very big way. A number of other Spinal Maladies are experienced as well - Multiple sites of Mild to Moderate Stenosis throughout various levels (Lumbar to Cervical), Spondyliosis in the vertebrae and Facet Joint Arthritis, advanced degenerative Disc Disease and Chronic SI Joint Inflammation (Sacroiliitis), Bone on Bone in the Right Knee, OA in the left knee and left Hip. When the Body cast came off after 3 months in 1966, the right leg was 1" shorter. The Doctor left it Unaddressed - it took about 16 years or so for the start of the Lower back Stiffness to evolve , getting worse over the decades. It wasn't until 30 years later that I commenced to wear a 1/2" lift in my shoes. As a Banker I was mostly in Dresss shoes everyday. Then in 2012 after seeking releif that I consulted new doctors. The new Pain management doctor ordered a series of MRIs : Cervical and Lumbar (later thoracic) which showed many of the maladies described. These issues cause Chronic pains (worse is the terrible Stiffness throughout the spine) has affected my central & peripheral Nervous systems. I have Forward Head Posture ills, severe Cervical Instabilities, lower back paiins, Neuropathy in the lower legs with swelling, calf & foot cramping. As 1 of the 6 Spinal /Neural Surgeons I consulted in 2018 -19 said..."Many doctors Count Scoliosis short. It can affect many functions in the body depending how many and which Nerves may be involved being affected by the Curvatures. My spine curves to the right (away from the Heart ) and the affects traversed up to the top of my neck with Cervical Instabilities _ suffering with ear & eye pains, TMJ, chronic Sinusitis, Lightheadedness, costochronditis, (T1 & T2 , and T9/T10 disc bulges) and according to some doctors (Caring Medical Channel) CI can affect IBS, (whicch I have) and Bladder/ Bowel incontinence. When I formally had my shoes adjusted per the specific Prescription in 2012, it helped to Stabilize further damage ( I Think) but Does Not correct the damages. Like a crooked beam in a house, you have to be careful to NOT affect the other walls and ceilings in the old house. I will try these exercises and look forward to becoming a subscriber to watch more. I seek any form of relief from the terrible Stiffness faced everyday. It affects my Pshche in a big way as well. Furthermore, although you show the Spine curving, it shopuld be mentioned that matters are more complicated when the Spine Twists as well as Curving.

The symptoms you describe are very similar to mine. I’ve also been getting cramps in my calf’s that hurt extremely bad. My knees are also uneven and one sticks out more than the other. I’m 18 and going through all this sucks. Let me know if anything ever works for you

I am doing the core balance training & commented & was directed to this video. It’s insane, the image you share at the end is me! Right shoulder depressed/down. I am now suffering with right knee pain, and joined the program due to back pain, as well deep soreness/tension at the right ribcage. I am a bit overwhelmed about the information though it is VERY helpful and I need to know what to focus on for just 20-30 min a day. Growing up, I can pinpoint that maybe I did give myself scoliosis. I would sit on one foot at my desk bc my sit bones were uncomfortable in those hard chairs. I did it all the time. I try not to now, but still catch myself.

Ditto on being a lifelong sufferer from this problem with the same lack of education and helpful treatment plans from numerous dr's & PT sessions for DECADES - thanks again for your attention to this and your helpful approach!

I had the same experience. 12 years of physiotherapists who don’t know what they are talking about. They haven’t a clue. And there is no accountability. Sucks.

I’m so glad that you’ve posted this video and I look forward to the next video of exercises focused on scoliosis! I’ve been dealing with the pain from this for years and while I’ve gone to PT they never seem to focus on exercise to help the problem! Thank you!!!

Your explanation's are good with only 2 muscles crossing the SIJ. I have been a PT for 25 years treating SIJ successfully. And yes, I had SIJD for years since age 13. Now 68. I've watched your videos and they are very well done. I do see complaints that the program is to slow. The mobility of the SIJ is questionable. There are people that say the SIJ has maybe 5deg of movt but that published literature was challenged and disproved by Richard Dontigny which put it at 30d or better in the straddle stance. In the 5deg article, the pelvis was blocked which was ridiculous. Point is, there are sacral torsions, there are anterior iliums. Do you think that just strengthening maximus and core will fix those positional faults? Seems they would respond quicker if the SIJ is in place first.

how do you know which side to lengthen?

Hello! I completed the program a few years ago. It has helped my lower back pain a lot! I did this exercise for the first time. I think my right leg is weaker. It became very sore and hurt lil bit after working that side.. is this normal? My left side had easier time.. is the active leg supposed to tighten as the hip move?

I have 13 screws, 2 rods, 2 plates & 3 cadaver parts. Also have 3 chards of bone floating in the brachial plexus nerve. The surgeon said they have to stay or I’d loose the use of my right arm. I had X-rays done by a chiropractor in Feb 2024 saw I have slight scoliosis in my lower back. My hips Never stay in place! Now my feet are num from the balls of my feet to my toes.

Can this help restore genetic scoliosis My mother myself and all of my children have the same curve and as we get older it is quite painful. Of course when I was young and my kids were young they said oh it's just a slight scoliosis Don't worry about it... That is BS It gets very painful

please checkout my comments as Chiroman527 of my afflictions . Having advanced Degenerative Disc Disease makes all of my maladies Much Worse. I have Military Neck (loss of the natural Curve of the Neck) from Forward Head Posture - I drove commuting to and from work as well as spending more hours in a car for my work- for over 40 Years. Generally about 3 hours a day. That made matters Much Worse.

how if my scoliosis is structural idiopathic ? can I still apply this exercise? my scoliosis is Stype thoracolumbar to the left, so my pelvis tend to be higher on the right side. But I tried using this movement on both side, I felt it's harder to lengthen the left because the right rib almost touching the pelvic, should I lengthen or stretch the right side?

I was diagnosed with scoliosis at age 14. Idiopathic. At the time (60 years ago) there was no treatment. I didn't have any problems until I turned 70. Now pretty much constant pain. I will try this therapy. Thank you
