dunno about CoreJJ, but I'll say when you're playing an engage support who needs a reliable source for gap-closing... i.e. melee tank supports. example - Leona

generally speaking, hexflash is for champions who can't play at a long enough range threaten the enemy adc without flash. If your engage is shorter than the enemy adc's attack range, you want hexflash. Leona doesn't really need hexflash since her e is 900 range and her r is even longer. Keep in mind that spell ranges are measured from center to center and auto attack ranges are edge to edge. So, when alistar has a w range of 650 and the enemy takes ashe, with an aa range of 600, you're actually outranged by roughly 50. So, taking hexflash on Leona can be a choice depending on the matchup, but not taking hexflash on alistar can lose you the game since there's no other way for him to close the distance. Obviously, the enemy support also factors into the range discussion, but if the best case scenario of being unobstructed onto the enemy adc is bad, then everything is pain. P.S. Hexflash is often taken as a secondary rune when the keystone is phase rush and nimbus cloak is taken. Same concept, just adds more range. Think, "I win if I can just get on them."

@@harshrao4495 I mentioned it was still a viable choice, just not necessary. If someone is asking if they should use hexflash, I generally direct them to champs that don't need it so they can have one less thing on their mental stack.
