I really came close to crying. Obviously I didn't know Paul, I wasn't even a fan during his time. However, the emotion and power of this music makes it impossible not to feel what he was feeling at this moment. You can tell that he is channeling all of his sorrow and anger into his performance, and that makes it so much more real than any top 40s artist who just spews out meaningless lyrics written by a committee who designed them to be catchy and easy to sell to ignorant people. This is the spirit of a real musician.

@Malix Corvin. I've dealt with depression since I was six years old. Before Slipknot and Stone Sour, I discovered Alice In Chains, and songs like Down in a hole, Brother, Rotten Apple, Would and Nutshell helped me get through. People always asked me why I listened to sad music if I was sad, and all I could say was "they understand what I'm going through, and they made it through to write about it". Depression is a constant fight, but if I can get through it, believe me so can you! Never stop fighting, and keep on rocking! Peace!!!

I'm gonna tell everyone I'm gay and get myself emotionally crucified!" I mean... I respect masochists too, so if anyone actually wants to do that then I don't judge lol let people live the way they want to live within the constraints of the law. individuality makes the world go round after all

+2PunkRock4u \m/ that's cool :) good luck with your girlfriend, I have a boyfriend, but I know for a fact that I notice girls too. People always peg Slipknot as this evil, twisted or satanic band, usually for no other reason than because of the way they dress and their horror movie type masks. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Sure, some songs are dark, but a lot of their music is very emotional and this right here proves that they are human beings who love and care just like the rest of us. Very hard to watch a grown man cry like that. RIP Paul. Thank you for all the joy you brought to those around you and for all of the kickass tunes you gave us.
@AKGuitarist9 жыл бұрын
AKGuitarist To expand on that thought: A lot of people are under the impression that if a song is heavy then it must be filled with hatred and aggression and only mellow songs can be emotional. Just because a song is heavy doesn't mean it isn't emotional in much the same way that just because a song is mellow makes any less evil.

The true feelings of a Heavy Metal frontman who lost one of his closest friends, when his voice cracks and he looks up at the ceiling then you KNOW he’s really feeling Paul’s spirit and can’t handle the sadness, RIP Paul Grey, I hope you’re looking after Corey and the rest of Slipknot, admiring their progress as a band, Slipknot really isn’t the same without Paul... but I know he’s smiling down on the band and helping them through it all..! Just like Chester Bennington of Linkin Park... sometimes I get the feeling that Paul Grey, Chris Cornell, and Chester Bennington are all watching over not only their respective bands, but also everyone else’s... we lost those three too soon... but, they’re there to show their bands the light and keep them going..! Sorry, this is turning into a bit of a rant... I guess I’ll just end this comment with... sleep in heavenly peace Paul Grey, Chris Cornell, and Chester Bennington, may you three guide your bands and let them know that you three are there... 🤘 Edit: and now we must add Joey Jordison to the mix… this song is even harder for Corey… I always tear up when I watch this video… or any live acoustic version of “Snuff” in general…

Death Machine So you know every guy on earth so you're aware of what the vast majority are thinking? I can tell you that guys that dont cry in public usually cry when they're alone, society made it taboo for us to feel sadness, but if you catch a guy when he thinks he's completely alone, youd see a different side in alot of men

Stupid2669 you must live in a rough area bro, ive only been mocked a couple times and the people that did it always got a "long talk" with my friends, you might not believe it but im apparently "rolling with the big boys" and they all respect me, i let them know right off the bat how I view emotions and since i stand for it they respect me about it, im by no means some "pc asshat" i just speak the truth, stand for something or fall for everything. If what you stand for is men being allowed to cry then you better flaunt it because if you dont then you're just as bad as the people who dont think emotions are ok

I have nothing but respect for Corey Taylor crying like he did. A man like him, headstrong to the core and built to last, showing his soft side during a song for Paul Gray. Saying he is a pussy for crying on stage is like saying you wouldn't care if your loved ones passed. Everyone is human, and everyone cries, sometimes on the inside and outside. Thinking about Corey and how this song relates to him I think of this song *hitting him like a 10 ton pallet of bricks emotionally.* I'm just listening to it and it hits me at an emotional core that I didn't think I had. It's astounding that he was able to articulate his emotions and even more incredible that he could preform something so personal in public for the world to see him. I'm a big fan of "made of scars" by stone sour (Also Corey Taylor) but snuff proves that scars run deeper than the skin and flesh especially in Corey.

Seeing my parents fight when I was 3 years old at the time, thoughts of suicidal, and when my Dad lost her older sister from a kidney failure in May 2014, which me, my older sister, and the rest of the family. Losing a love one is like, a piece of love is burned into flames. I will never forget it when I die. Snuff is probably the saddest songs I’ve heard in my life.
