The MXR Timmy and Duke of Tone are a proper homage to the PC Timmy and KOT/POT. Mike Pierra and Paul Cochrane signed off on them, and they are both notorious for refusing to release or send a pedal if it's not up to their standard, so do not be afraid of the fact that these are "mass-produced". Both are wonderful pedals.

@@chipsterb4946 There is a lot of sketchy marketing on the internet, without a doubt. I own a Timmy V3 and a Tim V3 and I absolutely adore both pedals. It is also nice to know that if for whatever reason my Timmy failed on me, I can walk into a local store and quickly grab the MXR version and not skip a beat.

Great demo, I tried it and didn't like it as much, I was underwhelmed by the low gain aspect of it, but I'm inspired to give it another go, also I'm using a solid state amp so I'm not going to get that same saturation you're getting, but for what it's worth I also tried the Timmy and fell in love with it, definitely more what I was looking for.

One thing I've noticed with every demo is how high the volume knob has to be to maintain unity gain or push a little. I'm a little interested to know if this has headroom issues. Also, maybe an oversight by MXR, but it would be nice to have the volume maintain parity between each toggle setting somehow. Though I'm not sure if that represents the prince or king of tone.
