IMHO, Fall of the Republic team should add Reconquest of the Rim campaign. With Separatists on their last legs, Empire having more and more Empire-y ships and vehicles and CIS Holdouts having access to organic troops, pirate and independents-associated ships, that they encouraged to build, as access to Dreadnought shipyards becomes almost non-existent.

Imagine being an admiral in the CIS, everything is going stable, you’re defending your homeworld from the republic and then bam. Half of your forces go offline at the same time
@Not-Ap7 күн бұрын
That actually did happen to a few of them. Their was answer was to turn tail and run with the few organic forces they had at their command. The other strategy was to circumvent the shut down and reactivate droid forces in their sectors. Either way, without the economic and industrial might of the full CIS, pretty much all were relegated to being petty crime lord's or pirates.

Not detailed in lore for obvious reasons, it would be interesting how former Separatists organize themselves in the post Empire period. Without the repressive arms of the state looking over their shoulders it seems probably to me that there would be a sort of Separatist renaissance post Endor. I doubt this would actually lead to any formal political parties (though I suppose it absolutely could or at least be influence in any outer rim party that existed) but at the very least veteran organizations, advocacy groups. cultural clubs all with a separatist bend interesting in rehabilitating the image of the CIS. On former separatist worlds you would probably see statues to Separatist leaders like Count Dooku and General Grievous (to the abject horror of anyone who was a victim of Operation Durge's Lance). The Clone Wars was only 23 before the end of the Empire and and former separatists and separatist sympathizers did just disappear.

One thing that often gets looked over is the Tion Hegemony, which Palpatine left as independent as a sort of humiliation for the region and Raxus Prime in particular being the birthplace of the separatist cause.

A necessary actionable evil. That way, the Rebel Alliance and the later New Republic wouldn't be too full of unneeded burdens, even when folk like Borsk Fey'lya still showed up. Meantime, we may need more sympathetic Neimoidians someday. May be cool to have a female Jedi who's admittedly very shy and gets picked on a bunch (even if most of that are just innocently insensitive jests), and yet is surprisingly good at combat, mediation, and healing, even if it looks like she's liquid luck personified. Not interested in Reign of the Empire. It's not Legends, after all.

Yeah they died in a farce, especially Nute Gunray, pitifully begging Darth Vader for peace in a war he started, and San Hill, who still showed up to get killed despite being booted out of the Banking Clan. And the Geonosians, who got enslaved by Palps, then genocided like an average Helldiver campaign on a Terminid world. Though, to be fair, they had no survival instincts. After all, Count Dooku is killed by Anakin/Vader and on Palps' command, Grievous got killed by Obi Wan, and despite their desperate situation and being at a tactical and strategic disadvantage between Attack of the Clones, the Clone Wars and Revenge of the Sith after taking so much Ls and they be like "Oh, Darth Sidious is telling us to wait for Lord Vader to discuss the end of the war despite us taking our lumps and him having the very same chin as Chancellor-for-the-Clone-Wars Palpatine. Let's not listen to him to go to Mustafar and take the CIS underground and set up extra security, tuck our heads between our legs and hide."

Why didn’t the CIS start constructing their own death star early on?
@empirednw66247 күн бұрын
Because the cis was designed to lose the war. There is a reason why they were portrayed as incompetent because they were that by design. Palpatine always intended to use the republic and have it turned into the empire. There never was a cis victory scenario.
@enisra_bowman7 күн бұрын
besides the point that they never ment to win the war: It also took the Empire an additional 20 years to build one because they had to research additional things for the superlaser and that in a calm periode with unlimited resources, building the actual thing don't take that long, see the second Deathstar that go build in >3 Years and was bigger. Basicly like with the Rocket Programs, that where around in concepts but it took addional 10-20 years to build one that send something to space and stay there

@redlox27 күн бұрын
Yeah well I guess the losers will always end up with the short end of the stick. Although Ezra in rebels described it best. Palpatine used both sides of the war to get his empire and then take over the entire galaxy so the seperatists cause was doomed from the beginning.
@daguroswaldson2577 күн бұрын
The republic and separatists are reminding me of democrats and Republicans today and I fear that we may go the same way as the Galactic Republic in Star Wars. It was also loosely based on the Roman Republic with how Julius Caesar was given emergency powers and then wouldn't let go of them. The separatists are a lot like the democrats, wanting massive change or so they claim, but are backed by the major corporations, but there were separatists who were true to their values like Mon Mothma, I think that was her name, who wanted peace with the Republic, as there are a few democrats who are true to their values and still have good morals. The Republicans are a lot like the neo-cons who wanted constant war. Whilst the Paleoconservatives and libertarians like Pat Buchanan and Rand Paul are a lot like Bail Organa and Padme.
@JapanCloneTrooper7 күн бұрын
I’m not sure about comparing American parties to Star Wars Factions. If such a comparison were made, wouldn’t the Republicans be more like the Separatists since they want to deregulate everything, stop paying taxes to the central government, are backed by corporations, and want a smaller government? Of course there would be differences like how divided the Separatists truly are when you get past the shared hatred of the Republic. Some planets prefer dictatorships, others want democracies, some hate the corporations that back them, and others are in their pocket. I suppose that would make the Democrats more like the Republic, trusting in the system and coming from more urban settings while Republicans are usually from more rural regions. Of course we wouldn’t be able to add culture war comparisons or else the Separatists would become too unlikable for being anti-LGBT and other stuff like that, which if you think about it would be a strange trait for the CIS to have given how diverse it’s species membership is. Another way to describe the political comparisons would be to take a look at the American Civil War. The Republic clearly represent the North and Republicans in that era as the central government trying to reunite the nation while the Separatists are the South and Democrats of that era fighting for their independence and a more decentralized government, minus the motivation of maintaining slavery. And no, the Zygerrians don’t mean the CIS stood for slavery. That instead point to the issue how without the war, the CIS would no doubt fracture due to its members being all over the political spectrum, assuming the corporations on the Separatist Council don’t use the military they made and control to keep everyone in line and steer the economy their way.

@@JapanCloneTrooper “The Clone Wars were for systems’ rights!”
@JapanCloneTrooper7 күн бұрын
@ Systems rights to do what? A lot of federal laws that protected worker rights were tossed out in the CIS leaving it up to individual planets. For better or for worse, the answers the Separatists would give vary far more than the Confederacy would say. Hence the danger of disunity without the Republic as an enemy. The corporations would want to have no restrictions, their victims would want them restrained, tyrants will act without fear of the Jedi stopping them, democracies will no longer pay taxes in exchange for vague possibility of protection from pirates and so on. What the Confederacy wanted out of the Civil War was the continuation of the evil of slavery, but in a grim way that might mean the CSA wouldn’t be at as much risk of falling apart after its war unlike the CIS.
